:nws: Apparently multiplayer VR has already replaced porn:

I can already see it now: people will pose as women and do sex poo poo in multiplayer VR games and get paid for it by lonely people. This is the future of webcam shows.

I just beat Deus Ex: HR, fun game! Anyways gently caress whoever decided to cram the DLC right before the last two chapters of the director's cut, it totally killed the pacing. I knew I was at the end but they made me spend 2 hours bullshitting around Totally Not Metal Gear Land earning all my skill points back first. I was 25 hours in and pretty ready for it to be over by that point.

Yeah, Human Revolution DX is a great game, but gently caress that DLC. I do not like having all of my abilities taken away from me like that. The DLC chapter itself is largely slow and boring and I can't wait to be done with it when I play the game. I appreciated almost everything else the DX version added and adjusted in the game, but that part is just a chore.

The DLC is pretty good as a standalone, it's very self-contained, but yeah I agree it should've been optional or something in the Director's Cut

I didn't really care for the hubs too much either. They were atmospheric and all but I feel like a lot of my playtime was just running from one end of the hub to the other.

So is it worth getting Dragon Quest 7 on the 3DS? We never got DQ7 over here originally (UK). Does anyone know what the story is with SMT4: Apocalypse over here too? Not seen any concrete details on a UK release. I know the original 4 was eshop only so I grabbed it when it was on sale.

I only got to play a few times (my ping was awful!) but when I did it was fun. I still have a ton of great memories from reading the threads and watching the Youtube videos. I think my favourite was the one that began as a regular frag video, then just changed to the extremely wide face.

I'm playing this at the moment, it's pretty fun. It has that Atlus Game thing (at least for me) where it's kind of relentlessly challenging you, so it feels like the videogame equivalent of taking a very long, difficult hike with no easy bits. I'm excited to see where the story will lead but it makes every step a very long and difficult one. I think I will just set it on easy and breeze through the rest of the plot if I end up getting sick of it though

Well I haven't learned the characters or maps yet. It means I keep going the wrong way (backwards, into walls, into dead ends) and pressing the wrong keys/wrong weapons at the wrong times and also have not learned who can do what against what where they need to.

I am getting better. I've gotten to level 18 in the last few weeks!

So... how's the N3DS? I'm travelling to the states on November and I'm sorely tempted to get one, but last time I had a portable it was a DS and I ended up selling it because I never touched the thing.

copy kitty thoughts

this game kinda rules. it's not a beautiful game but it's a really fun one. i don't have gifs this time because everything in the game is so hectic that a GIF would be like a thousand megabytes, here's the steam page so you can watch the trailer

http://store.steampowered.com/app/349250/

it's kirby meets megaman. every enemy has a power you can pick up and use as a weapon, and you can combine up to 3 of them to make a brand new weapon, from laser swords to plasma tornados to homing grenades

even though it's an early access game the game is 90% complete so there are 100+ levels and nearly a couple dozen bosses in the game, along with a hard mode, endless mode, a second protagonist with his own mechanics, and a bestiary

it's really frenetic, and every level gives you new combinations of powers to combine so you're almost always going to have a brand new weapon to discover.

apparently there's a demo out there on itch.io somewhere if you want to try it out

The DS had an insane list of great games and the GBA library as well, but if you didn't want that why would you think the 3DS would grab you any more?

Well. Are you seeing anything that interests you? What games did you get with the DS that you thought you might have wanted to play?

Edit: What FAU said

The 7th Guest

i may as well share thoughts on a couple other games i've played because i've played a TON in the past week

mandagon: this is a free game on steam that is super chill, it's only 20 minutes but you're a little totem dude looking for tablets to place into warp portals. the visuals are like Fez, high quality pixels

port of call: another free game on steam, this is a kind of odd one, it's a walking sim, it's not the best looking game but most free walky games aren't. you're on a death ship talking to dead people and helping them pass on

big action mega fight:

this one was a bit of a disappointment because I like the art of it, I like double stallion and their ok KO game, I just think that it needs tweaking to be a better game. for starters, enemy reaction times are way too slow in the first 2/3rds of the game, that you likely won't even be damaged until level 15-16 (there are 35 levels in the game). there also isn't enough enemy variety as the color palette swaps come out pretty quickly. the combat is very basic for a Final Fight tribute, with no jump/jumpkick, and no real comboing. Just basic punch, uppercut, throw, and tuck roll. I think the game needs a little more time in the oven to tweak damage values, HP values, things like that. It's a mobile port to PC and I think maybe it was balanced for mobile gamers. If they can rebalance it I think it'd be decent.

Chrono Trigger.

I think I can safely justify getting the thing just to get a copy of Chrono Trigger DS (I sold the DS before it came out :(). Any other good games available are kind of a bonus. :v:

/edit: Also, I played a whole bunch of games on the DS, I ended up selling it but it's not like I had it for a day. Played the 'vanias, Meteos, Advance Wars, etc.

I have not played any other versions but Chrono Trigger DS is an amazing game.

The DS had a few games that made me feel like it was really worth my purchase, and the 3DS has not had any games like that for me. I think I'm a lot less into longass JRPGs than I used to be and I've never been that interested in nintendo games, and the 3DS lineup is mostly nintendo games and JRPGs.
