I don't think Joe Smith is a fair comparison to Jason Motte. Motte was a very good cheerleader for the team and I'm pretty sure Smith isn't.

Concepcion and Candelario aren't on the list today, but the other three you mention are. Tim Federowicz is a surprise name being promoted, giving the Cubs four catchers. Hector Rondon has also been activated from the DL.

In the at bat app, the Braves/Marlins game is listed as "Cancelled - tragedy"

Somehow that makes it more real.

Yesterday was a hell of a day. First the Fernandez news broke, then Scully got to call a walk-off in his final game, then David Ross hit a HR in his final regular season home game. Not all of those things are like the others but it was a roller coaster day.

My big take away from yesterday was just how special it is to be able to end on your own terms.

Hoping Freeman at least gets votes for 4th or 5th though, after the second half he's had. Probably not given "best hitter on the worst team" doesn't sell as well.

Bryant, Rizzo, Daniel Murphy, Corey Seager, and maybe Arenado probably represent the bulk of the votes, by my (likely terrible) estimate. I think Bryant gets the edge for being even better this year compared to last and unexpected defensive versatility.
