I was saying to my friend it's awesome that this show has one hour every week and still is willing to spend 30 minutes of it on a lower mid-card feud as their main event.

I was very happy that I waited thirty minutes for Mariposa to appear, she finally did, and they basically disposed of her in four seconds, even if she did almost bounce her head off a turnbuckle to do it. That double-stomp at the end was sick, too, Killshot just rode him allllllllllllllllllllllllll the way down. Oh, Marty, you are too good for this world. Felt like the match was your typical "move from spot to spot, set up spot, etc" but they mixed it up just enough to keep it interesting.

It is kind of weird that for a wrestling fed, I had to stop to think for a few minutes earlier today about who the champ was. Could come up with Sexy Star for Gift of the Gods, but was like...who...will she challenge? oh, yeah, matanza, right

e: Why would Dario not know who Joey Ryan was? Surely he is aware of everything that goes on in His Temple, the weird dude with the porn stache and lollipop would stick out, I'd think.

They might be intending to push Killshot now that this feud is blown off. Maybe put him and the Mack in a trios team again?

The exchange when they meet:
"What the hell do you want?"
"Relax, I'm a friend."
"You don't look friendly."

Seems to indicate he doesn't? Is it possible Joey only showed up on episodes where Catrina was in charge?

I'm not gonna get to watch this live tonight, which sucks, but it looks like we have Matanza versus random opponent from DARIO'S DIAL OF DOOM, a Trios Title rematch, and Cage trying to drag an interesting match out of Texano. And most importantly, probably more of that sweet sweet lore.

The structure of the gimmick means they can't really build to the title match, but hopefully this is leading to a good payoff.

also in the next vignette, Taya was pretty great with the "uh, he's a DAREWOLF" correction and Dario's blank look afterward

Xerzes posted:

I feel like Texano must make a lot more sense in Mexico. He seems pretty over with the latin (well, especially Latina) crowd, but everyone I know seeing him in LU for the first time is like "well, he's not terrible." This match was pretty good, and I liked that they had a little fist bump afterward, both still faces. We'll see if it goes down the Drago/Aerostar route of at least teasing a turn for someone.

Dias posted:

Yes. Obviously, this trios match was taped way later in the season when Jack had his broken jaw, so he had to work really light. But his antics and everyone else being off the hook made up for it.

a fun one top to bottom and I really enjoyed all three matches. Even Texano seemed a little more dynamic than usual. Although that may be a byproduct of facing Cage, who is quickly becoming my favorite musclebound dude because he works so super-agile for his size.

I also do love that even having gone to most of the tapings, some things are still complete mysteries to me. I have no idea what the pictures are all about.

He was one of the DoD, I don't remember which one. Siniestro was in the Season 3 trailer, I think, so he'll pop back up at some point.
