Think about it

If Pearl Jam never happened, neither would have Nickelback, Creed, Fuel, etc. Worst impact on music

Why can't we have both? A new hair metal band would probably own.

Why do you suppose they call it pearl jam? Is it named after a mechanical malfunction in a gun that shoots pearls?

Pearl Jam songs are a grab bag of cliches derived from every 90s hotbutton social issue imaginable and they sound very dated and terrible now.

Nirvana, meanwhile, ages like a fine wine and yet they both get lumped into the "grunge" bin smh..

Also Alice in Chains. I guess that at least makes sense because you can sort of describe them as "Pearl Jam or Soundgarden, but good".

Soundgarden sucks too right?

I borrowed a Pearl Jam CD from the scribe once and listened to it while on watch at the fort and it was the worst I'd ever heard. I told him it sucked rear end so for the remainder of my service he tried to sabotage all my leave requests. Welp that's my Pearl Jam story I don't think I've listened to it since 1998 so maybe it's good now god bless us all and god bless the motherland.

Nah, they good. Not quite Alice in Chains good, but probably the runner up out of all of those 'grunge' bands that made it big.

Also, pearl jam is named after eddie vedder's grandmother's jam or some poo poo. It's really loving lame.

Pearl jam was actually good when i was an angsty high school kid in the 90s and wore lots of flannel, i will agree it has not aged well. The album they did with sound garden (or some of the members from each group) Temple of the Dog was pretty good too. Other grunge bands you've forgotten to mention would include the Stone Temple Pilots, the Screaming Trees and the entire soundtracks to Singles minus the Pixies/Frank Black which still hold up over time.

if you want really terrible bands from then you need to look into Hooty and the Blowfish and the Dave Mathews Band, both of which sucked so mightily that they made Pearl Jam look good.
