I picked movies, but this can apply to TV shows or documentaries or miniseries, or whatever. Also, drugs can mean alcohol, painkillers, cough medicine, weed, heroin, LSD, shrooms, whatever mind-altering substance. You can specify which drug if it matters, but I imagine the majority (like me) will be pot.

Trailer Park Boys (TV show, Netflix) - almost a cliche stoner show, but i recently got into it and have enjoyed going through it for the first time

Atlanta (TV show, FX) - this just started, but I love it. Someone described it as "twin peaks (also on the list) with rappers" and creator-star Donald Glover agreed

Popstar Never Stop Never Stopping (Movie) - new movie from The Lonely Island that horribly bombed, but is hilarious

Neighbors 2 (Movie) - somehow more weed-based than the first one, also funnier

Tron Legacy (Movie) - great for the trippy philosophy from Jeff Bridges, the Daft Punk score, the crazy visual effects and aesthetic, the action, everything everything EVERYTHING.

Life of Pi on LSD was an amazing experience. Absolutely perfect movie to watch in that state of mind with both it's visuals and story.

I've tried to watch Paprika on shrooms and LSD a bunch and I always get about half way through and realize that I have actually watched it before then I go watch something else but that first half is really loving good. Baraka and Samsara are a bit cliche but really great films while tripping.

First time I did mushrooms I watched The 13th Warrior and for a long time I didn't realize those Vikings weren't speaking English. It sounded like English but I couldn't understand it.

Speed Racer is great high. The part near the beginning where the kid and the monkey are watching a cartoon and pretend they're in the cartoon just cracked me up, and the whole thing is so cheesy but honest that it's a perfect drug movie. Fun and non threatening with lots of pretty colors.

Also any BBC nature documentary, I find animals and nature facinating all the time but it's especially beautiful on some kind of hallucinogen.

My go-to was always Home Movies. Still is, actually. Specifically "Renaissance" although I was never particularly picky where that series is concerned.

Also, whenever I have a cold and the cough meds are kicking in, it's the episode of Farscape entitled "Durka's Return" every drat time. I wish I could explain why, but I honestly don't know. It might just be the illness-equivalent of muscle memory.

e: I actually have a pretty nasty cold at the moment. Maybe that's what I'll do tonight.

Just the right length (15 minutes), very Tim and Eric bizzare without getting too gross or trying to freak you out on purpose, and special guest star Zach Galifinakis. Also hilarious.

With weed, you can put anything in front of me and I'll probably watch it. Travel and food shows and BBC nature docs are probably my favorites, though. I also like really really bad true crime stuff that's too embarrassing to watch sober even if I'm the only one home.

When I got the flu last year, I discovered that the first couple seasons of Mad Men go really well with Nyquil. Make of that what you will, I guess.

Always Sunny is pretty great high. I watched To Catch a Predator and Louis Theroux meeting people who sell Thai brides and it was incredibly dark and VHSy, would not recommend.
