I "purchased this movie through legal means" and I will watch it eventually. When I'm like super bored I guess? Though you are making it seem like it will be even worse than doing nothing

Maybe I should just jerk off for two hours instead

IMAX is going to launch VR theatres soon. I think the industry is going to try and make VR-cinema a thing to keep butts in seats

I believe the idea is that IMAX will use better tech than the stuff you can use at home (unless you are filthy rich).

quote:

IMAX reportedly plans to open six VR locations worldwide in malls and multiplexes before the end of 2016, with the first destined for Los Angeles. After that, the company wants to expand to China. The venues will use VR headsets created by Swedish company Starbreeze which boast a wide and immersive field of vision (210 degrees compared to 110 degrees for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive). Starbeeze recently announced it was teaming up with Taiwanese firm Acer to develop the headsets.

quote:

IMAX chief executive Richard Gelfond told The WSJ that he imagined that the VR content would be tied to existing movie franchises, that they would last around 10 minutes and cost between $7 and $10. The idea, suggests Gelfond, is to create a VR experience that's better than what you can get at home — the same way that a movie theater is better than your living room TV.

"Virtual reality in the home is going to be a crowded space, but we thought the idea of doing VR in the multiplex of the future was a place where we can provide a superior experience and a social experience, which are the same reasons people go to movies," said Gelfond. Starbreeze CEO Bo Andersson Klint added, "We’ll be able to leap five years ahead of what most people can do in their homes."

The RTS genre is incredibly dead, I'd be surprised if we ever got a Warcraft 4 instead of just World of Warcraft 2

Of course since it is a Blizzard game it'd still sell pretty well so who knows, maybe they'll release WC4 and use it as a leadup to WoW2 like they did with WC3 and WoW
