How far are you into it? Some big-ish things happen near the end which will come up in Rebels. You could probably just go with the recommended viewing list which has been passed around.

Chopper is a straight up rear end in a top hat. As a change of pace, I guess it's good for the series. He's grating, but it works as a nice counter to all the other non-expressive and silent astromechs or the child-like droids like R2 or Gonk.

Jyn has been away from Saw for about 3-4 years by this point. We could get something though from Saw where he says Ezra reminds him a stubborn, young fighter he used to know.

There's two Jedi left (outside of Obi-wan and Yoda). We're still two years out from Rogue One, and six years out from the moment where Luke will be the last of the Jedi per Yoda. So there's still time to take Ezra and Kanan off the board. Maul isn't a Jedi, and Ahsoka isn't one either per the order and her own beliefs. You then also have the non-Jedi Force users in the galaxy who don't count either, i.e. Maz, Chirrut, Bendu, etc..

I believe some of the cast have already talked about recording for next season. It could all be a smoke screen, but they seemed pretty up front that it's coming. Whether that one is the last is unknown. I could see them launching a post-RotJ show immediately after season 4 though, perhaps to pick up some of the things left over from Rebels, Rogue One and the OT. I wonder if we'll get a title and possible setting confirmation in a few months at Celebration if so. For today's episode: I'm surprised they wrote Sabine "off" the show. I'm sure she'll still show up for some arcs, but that addresses one of the members of the Ghost crew possibly going into Rogue One. Teek fucked around with this message at 17:38 on Feb 18, 2017 |

Mon Mothma was also on Yavin IV during Rogue One but not during A New Hope. Seems a easy route to have them escort her elsewhere right after Rogue One. Have them be with her when they get the news of the Death Star's destruction. Seems a fitting hopefully moment to go out on for the series.

Big Mean Jerk posted:Will they be showing any season 4 stuff at Celebration? I'll be there, but I haven't decided if the Rebels panel was worth standing in line for. Based on past celebrations and interviews after the seasons 3 finale, almost certainly. We may also get an announcement about what the next series will end up being from Filoni. He's been the head of animation for a year now, so we should finally get some idea what else he's been working on.

There's no Celebration next year, so that might increase the chances of it getting announced here.

Not sure where the episode counting is coming from on IGN's part, it wasn't said at the panel or episode screening from what I recall. Dave also had some full self-aware snark for the Chopper and AP episode complaints in a panel yesterday, as he talked about how emotionally invested they got doing heavy episodes and wanting to fall back to some light stuff. I was able to get in to the panel too, and my one comment: It starts super in media res, I thought maybe we had skipped the episode premiere and we were watching episode 2, but apparently not. They start right in the action, then drop some dialogue throughout the episode to explain how they got to that point. The voice actor for Sabine's father was also super familiar but I can't place it. Now that I'm thinking about it, maybe Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa?

It would probably be limited to Tatooine, in so far as Obi-Wan will always be there. But you could have other characters coming into the story that start out at other locales. Could involve the Hutts in some way, or some local heavy making trouble for Anchorhead, Mos Eisley and the farmers in the region. This would possibly force Obi-Wan to step in and help out. Something akin to Yojimbo/A Fistfull of Dollars would be awesome. Could also use it to wrap up some other dangling Tatooine threads from ANH and the Prequels, not that anyone is demanding answers to these: What happened with Watto and Gardulla the Hutt? How would Kitster react to learning about Anakin? What about finally seeing Obi-Wan trying to get Owen to accept Anakin's saber and that argument. FYI, this was the one they showed at Celebration. And it makes a bit more sense in context now that it's aired after the first episode. Much more appreciative of it this time around.

Could be, there's still some unexplored time between where Thrawn leaves off and Rebels picks up a few years later.
