That'd probably be too easy for BA/Gourmet since a bunch of those have the process and recipe leg work done by Stella Parks in Bravetart.

I caught a few episodes of Parts Unknown over the years but never watched a full season. I'm starting to watch it all on netflix now and man is it some great and powerful stuff.

Lucky you, I'd love to have ~100 new episodes to watch. That show literally changed the way I travel, eat, and think about the world.

Should've been like "can't wait to get home and boil these ribs and eat them with ketchup" and he wouldn't have been able to help himself from tearing your throat out.

You guys were right about that Starburst video, it really bummed me out. What's some other cool YouTube food content that isn't Bon Appetit or Try Guys related?

Brad's new It's Alive makes it obvious that Claire's breakdown during the Starburst thing was about 90% because she was putting up with Brad while helping him make doughnuts.

The Bon Appetit kitchen is really the weirdest true-life Office show.

When I first opened the video I was wondering why it was in two parts, then I got to the Tom Berenger derail. I would completely watch an Office-esque show with the BA kitchen crew; I've been watching those 'Every Way To Make A [Potato/Chicken Breast/Egg]' videos and I could see Amiel being perfect for that.

Has anyone seen the new show On Netflix called Taco Chronicles? Its pure food porn, I watched the first episode all on tacos Al Pastor and I wanted to eat all of them (ok, maybe not the ones served out of the car mechanic shop)

I've only seen the first episode but do all of them end with a monologue from the taco's perspective? This show rules.

Au contraire my friend. The best tacos are from the sketchiest places. Best asada tacos I've had were at the house of a dude I was buying weed from. Auto mechanic pastor sounds exactly like what I'd go for.

Are they really good tacos if you aren't worried that you might get food poisoning and/or stabbed in the process of obtaining them?

Discovery has done a ton of layoffs, as I recall. Basically the only stuff they do now is Chopped, Beat Bobby Flay, that stupid-rear end baking / cake show and daytime programming that costs them like $20 / episode to make. I guess they have a new season of Restaurant Impossible coming out soon, but God knows how long ago that was shot.

I’m surprised they still hire Irvine honestly, considering how little charisma he has. I guess the ‘pound shop/dollar store Gordon Ramsey’ thing works for them.

So yeah. I agree, an actual life version of The Office set in the BA offices would be an ideal show for me.

I was at my inlaws over the weekend and they spent like an hour watching Restaurant Impossible revisited, where the first 45 minutes were recapping a 2012 episode, with a few minutes of Robert coming in at the end to check in on the restaurant and test them by bringing in extra people that night.

Decided to try out Hyper Hardboiled Gourmet Report on Netflix and I really don't care for it after the first episode. Kind of like if Parts Unknown was run by a team of Japanese psychopaths. I don't know the nuts and bolts of how it is produced, but it seems uncomfortably exploitive.

On the Pop Rocks episode she said something about getting Gourmet Makes back to doing stuff a pastry chef would actually make. I think she dislikes a lot of the Gourmet Makes but stuff like the pringles and twizzlers she enjoys, for some reason. They really should give her something she enjoys more, though. She did that how to make a cake series and seemed to really love it.

I mean, a lot of the recent ones have been way closer to industrial chemistry than pastry and candy making

I think a lot of them come from a restaurant background? I remember Molly mentioning it in a video, googled and yea she worked in a Michelin starred restaurant in NYC, and I remember Carla talkinga bout how she was the manager at the first Shake Shack

I don't know if this is helpful information or not but I'm not sure if it's an inability to shut up as much as she really doesn't want to be YouTube personality, like she straight up quit a few months ago. She is holding back and if she was more honest it would probably come out worse lol

I'm not sure why she's making videos again but like, Condé Nast is betting the future of their entire organization on video, BA is their biggest hit, and there's a bunch of people's jobs who are basically counting on her showing up. She's probably getting paid pretty well but also I genuinely kinda feel bad for her and hope she can quit for good soon.

Speaking of Claire being exasperated, Brad and Claire's sourdough doughnuts part 2 posted and they hosed it up so bad they have to do a part 3. Actually I'm not sure if it needed a part 3 because part 1 and 2 have had so little cooking and so much Brad and Claire just goofing off.
