That's the way TQY goes - there will always be mysteries left at the end of the game, since play is collaborative, the oracle encourages you to create lots of threads, and the story's locked off once you draw the Frost Shepherds card. When you stop playing, you stop writing the story - permanently. Any thoughts afterwards are speculation and theorising. Of course, you don't have to play it like that - for example, you could use it as the starting point for writing fiction or playing a more traditional rpg - but I like that as the default.
