I remember reading a Freep thread waaay back in the day where one of the guys said he went around to all his neighbours and asked if he could dig up any of their random small pine saplings that grew on their property just naturally. He said the neighbours were fine with him having them. He took them back to his place, replanted them around his boundary line, then strung razor wire in between them. As they grew, he said, the trees incorporated the razor wire into their growth, and he ended up with a boundary that would be hard to get through, and would likely cut up and poison anyone who tried to get through it, due to the razor wire being also rusty.
He also said that if anyone knocked at the front door he and the wife would grab shotguns each, just in case it was someone from the Government, which could have literally been any kind of worker. I remember it so vividly, and just how paranoid and scared he was, while trying to look hard.
Freepers are a weird bunch.

I remember when Texas was first having its referendum about whether to allow concealed carry. I don’t remember when it was, maybe the early to mid 90’s. I was having a friendly argument with a couple of black guys at work who opposed it. One of them said he could see a situation in which a black guy is running down the street to catch a bus or something, and some over-zealous citizen assumes he is running from the scene of a crime and shoots him. I told them that scenario was BS, but this shooting of a jogger sounds kind of like their scenario.

But without more details, I cannot tell if his freak out was reasonable. I am waiting to hear whether or not the man identified himself as a law enforcement officer either vocally or by flashing a badge, which I expect most retired cops still carry.

The “jogger” certainly wasn’t behaving like a person just getting a workout. Anyone doing that would have stopped and would want to know what on earth was going on, NOT run around the truck and then go for the guy with the rifle.

A friend of mine goes fishing in Canada. And more often than not the border police would pull him over for a little chat. He finally figured out why: He had an NRA bumper sticker.

My perception of the police radically changed a few weeks ago when the NJ Sheriff told the chinese virus protestors their Freedom of speech and protest no longer applied.
I no longer feel police will protect are 2nd amend either. If they are told they will lose their job or pension they will take away our guns in a heartbeat.

Every time we found a scene with cops attempting to do CPR, there was some type of weirdness going on. They typically will not even touch people who need that type of assistance. One time we showed up at a scene with half a dozen cops doing mouth to mouth on a morbidly obese handcuffed prisoner. We knew immediately something was amiss.
They had handcuffed him and left him face down and were happy that this quieted him down until they realize that they had killed him. The first thing I did was make them take the cuffs off. They were preventing any form of effective CPR.
Then we were told that our obvious victim of suffocation had a heart attack while fighting with them. But it was easy to see that he had been dead for a good twenty minutes or more.

That being said, looks like the cop was kneeling correctly on the carotid area of the guy’s neck. If it’s determined the cop caused the guy’s death, cop should go to jail for murder, the other officers as accomplices.
