So today the Gov of PA ordered that everyone has to wear a mask in public places, and also won a court case from the PA supreme court basically saying that he has the authority to do what he's doing under PA law, freep is spicy. The annoucement came from the PA health sec. who is transgender.

I mean I guess they could, like the reason Shelby County happened was because in some other case Roberts just wrote some dicta like "hm you know theoretically if someone were to sue about the VRA we'd use this reasoning to strike it down *hint hint*", and the reason a Muslim ban finally passed was because Roberts kept writing opinions like "hey this is what you should have said to make it legal, gee if only you would say this, oh my god you fuckers just say it like this next time"
The podcast "5-4" calls this (I don't know if they coined this or just use it) the "Roberts two-step" where he basically upholds something on a technicality but lays the groundwork for its total defeat in a later case. With Obamacare his opinion said something about it being a tax but not...being legal under the commerce clause? I don't know I'm not great at paying attention and also dumb so I may be wrong on details. But they like to point out the times he does it (also I'm very far behind on listening to that and all of my podcasts)

I left the NFL behind when the kneeling began as an endorsed insult to our great nation. It’s ironic that the league has its operational foundations built on a master-servant system.
The reality is we are in a culture war which is going to determine the future viability of our country. We have to recognize that a large majority of our young people have been indoctrinated through taxpayer public education in anti-American history, and many were not taught critical thinking skills.

I quit the NFL in response to the handling of Colin Kaepernick's kneeling, but admit, I eased back in and watched a few games last year, and played fantasy football because I missed it.
This is just too much, and goes too far. I'm permanently done now.

They didn't do it to stop offending people (well, aside from the mega racist implication going on with the "savage" orcs), but because the idea of inherently evil or good beings is boring as gently caress and makes a game that has trouble avoiding meta gaming as is even more rote. It also avoids arbitrary dilemmas like the "goblin baby" problem. The alignment system is extremely archaic but people have been loathe to mess with it because it has always just kinda been there.
But Freepers need to be mad at something.
