Recently moved here about 9 months ago, a few recommendations from things I've tried(pretty much South Bay):

Korean BBQ: ToBang (Santa Clara)
Dim Sum: Koi Palace in Milpitas (I've heard the one in Daly City is better, but it's a lot farther for me)
$$$$$$: Laforet down by Almaden Quicksilver park

I’m not from New York so I can’t compare it to actual NY pizza but I’ve always liked A Slice of NY in South Bay.
