Found your testimonial on the OP. Straight razors are too goony, double edge razors are too steampunk, so you've definitely made the right choice here joining a club to send you cheap disposable cartridges.

That's why there have been so many suggestions to get a safety/double edge razor. It's the best balance of cost, quality and ease of use. Straight razors require you to have a not only a good shaving technique, but also good sharpening technique. Otherwise there will be lots of blood. Or a hosed up edge on your blade which is easy to do and a quite costly mistake. Go to your closest fancy gentleman's store/webstore and see if they can work out some sort of payment plan so you can buy a safety razor handle. *edit* My face is far, far cleaner than any hippy beard havers can possibly be.

Well no, that's not what I was saying at all. But now I've now realized I was wrong and a straight razor is exactly what you need. This is the Dovo Bergischer Lowe Buffalo Horn 5/8" Straight Razor  5/8" full hollow, carbon steel blade with gold etching and Natural buffalo horn scales (handle). Made in Solingen, Germany. Just buy one to start out and see if straight razor shaving is for you.
