My girlfriend and I watch this series - she's a massive fan and spent a lot of the last episode crying. Surprised how little traffic this one's getting on SA. A lot of it feels a bit contrived - too much drama layered on. I like Kyle's new girlfriend.

It's not really a TVIV kinda show. But yeah the playwright is a real good character and the actress is excellent.

The playwright is the girl from the AT&T commercials. And I hope the thing with her and Kevin continues.

If Kate fucks fat camp douchebag I'm gonna be so pissed Also gently caress Kevin for taking his ex away from her nice bf because he's creepy enough to remember what she wore to school when she was 10

This goddamned show. I don't know if my roughly-a-teenager-girl emotional state can handle much more of these heavy sibling scenes. Kevin is the best character on this show and I love what they did with him in the latest episode. I was kind of worrying that they were going to avoid the phone call Kevin and Randall had early in the season and I'm so glad with the direction they're taking.

Yeah, that final moment was so earned. It was beautiful and I tore up. Also guess we know how Jack's gonna end up dying it was nice to see them make him a lil less perfect this episode.

I really hope Jack dies in a woodchipper

Only recently started this show because I thought it was far too sappy by the looks of the trailer. I fought back tears tonight while watching with my roommate. seriously people, appreciate your friends and family while they're here

What a fantastic episode. Fogelman is an excellent writer, and Sterling K. Brown may be one of the best actors alive. Not to dismiss Cephas Jones because drat because god drat

My girlfriend's father died two weeks ago. This episode crushed her but we just spent half an hour discussing how happy she is that we found this show to watch together.

This is probably the best writing on tv right now but does not feature any sort of superhero spaceship or dragon so unlikely to pick up much traction here. Kinda surprising since like half this site's population are probably dads now.

I don't get how this show is so lauded - the first ep felt extremely cheesy and fake.

It got better. I mean it's still total cheese, but good cheese

I'm completely expecting Jack to have a misunderstanding, go into a jealous rage, and get himself killed tonight. Drunk driving is way too obvious and telegraphed for how many left turns this season's taken. I think this was the surprise of the season. I don't know what I was expecting, but I wasn't expecting anything this tightly written or emotionally engaging.

We've already seen the funeral with the kids look essentially as they did in the last episode. Did they say that once we see how he dies that we never get to see him again?

Once we see how he dies they can't keep hinting at it or mak two hour drunk drives seem dangerous.

Todd VanDerWerff has a hilarious theory that Jack dies during 9/11 I guess that doesn't need to be spoilered but eh

Escobarbarian posted:Todd VanDerWerff has a hilarious theory that Jack dies during 9/11 That is impossible. The current time as of the last episode when he is driving to the show is somewhere within a year before May 1996, based on the registration stickers on his car windshield. Bush doesn't do 9/11 for another 5 years.
