Hedgehogs are awesome. They're incredibly easy to take care of, smart, friendly after a bit of socialization, and can live in a terrarium. The only downside is they're nocturnal so you have to be a bit of a night owl to enjoy them.

What about teacup pigs? Breeders claim they'll stay small for ever and then they grow to completely impractical size of a normal pig.
