Even having been spoiled on a few of the points (the bad guy or guys, their motivation, and what's up with the glitches), I'm still looking forward to this game and trying to solve its mysteries. I imagine most of the game can't be answered by those big things.

They included the P4 protagonist but left out Adachi? For shame.

(Adachi is great, but I'm going to be unable to take Hajime seriously during any of the trials now.)

Hot dang Byakuya, you REALLY wanted to get away from Toko didn't you.

I mean, that's the only logical explanation for why he is now Byakuya Ala' Grande.

I somehow doubt that would work on her. Genocide Jack, maybe, but then she'd start killing people again.

Maybe it's not the same Byakuya? Considering how weird the Togami family is, it wouldn't surprise me if they also had a really weird naming scheme.

Well, that explains Nagito Komaeda's name. He's Makoto, but less oblivious. So that would make us Kyoko, but not an rear end in a top hat. That sounds like a much better arrangement than the first game.

Also, for those who don't know the significance of the island's name:

Welp, my guess was way off. I figured Byakuya was going to be the first killer, he was acting way too heroic. It's kind of interesting that one of the few familiar faces got knocked off first.
The night vision goggles and the "beyond recognition" thing are pretty suspicious. It would've been tough to move his body under the table without leaving an obvious blood trail, and without being heard. I have some wildly unlikely theories, but those can wait for the investigation stage.
Current suspects: Sword Girl, Yakuza Brat, Mechanic Dude, Poop Guy (just cause he'd be strong enough to heft around that sack of lard), the Large Boy himself (), and Steve cause gently caress that guy

The night vision goggles would be how the killer could find Byakuya in the dark. They would wait for him to move to that specific spot, kill him, and roll him under there. They would ditch the goggles and navigate by memory back to the breakers.

The "beyond recognition" thing, the suitcase, and his entire attitude makes Byakuya himself suspect, though. He could have hid the body there ahead of time, turned off the lights, poured some blood on the body, and escaped to who knows where. But then, whose body is it? (I doubt it would be Hifumi. This is the tutorial trial, remember?)

Joke speculation: Byakuya ate the kebabs because he knew he was going to "die". Can't miss out on the Ultimate Chef's cooking.

I'm guessing what happened was, Byakuya went to grab the goggles and knife he hid (which is the knife we see), but somebody stabbed him through the floorboards. If the knife were used to stab him, it should be bloody all over the blade, not just on the sharp bit. They should turn over the knife and see if there's blood on the other side.

He was told there would be a murder. He probably figured that would be the way they'd try it, so he brought the goggles and fluorescent paint. When the killer was setting up, they discovered the hidden knife when they were hooking up the lamp, and figured out where he would be going during the blackout.

He saw someone else going for the knife under the table with night vision goggles. He managed to keep his promise in the most roundabout way: instead of that person getting murdered they got spooked by Byakuya, who was then murdered.

The knife was never meant to be a murder weapon. We know the weapon was a skewer from the autopsy report and the kitchen equipment manifest. The murderer wouldn't go for the knife if they already had the skewer.

Koizumi was D due to her talent, and I doubt Mioda would have taken up archery, so she would be C. I do suspect E is still alive and is our mystery person. Basically, the number of people in the sub-game is bothering me. There was one person who was definitely murdered, and another one looked like she bit it. If this really happened, then they can't be here now, and we know the school only accepts 16 students per class. Yeah, they could have been in the other class (there are only 2 classes of 16 students at Hope's Peak), but something just seems off about that explanation to me.

The motive isn't being sick. The motive is that other people are sick. If you're already inclined to kill somebody, this gives you an opportunity to create enough confusion to get away with it, like Trial 3 in the first game.
