She likes to lord her intelligence over others and always tries to feel superior. It's not hard to take her down a peg since she frequently doesn't know as much as she pretends to about anything other than cadavers or spirits, but doing this makes her sulk. (In hindsight, they probably shouldn't have used real swords.) While she used to be expressive and energetic, years of wandering and living by herself have made her keep her focus but lose the bounciness that went along with it. Businesslike and to the point, she's honed the skills she learned through her time on the road to become something of a competent swordswoman. She doesn't ever talk about her past, changing the subject anytime someone brings it up. Hearing about the exploration boom in Aeolis, she's here to get in on the ground floor and make a name for herself. By doing that, she hopes that her hometown will hear what's become of her and feel really bad about running her off all those years ago.

She hides her Lunarian ears under her hair since everyone knows only Earthrun are Dragoons.

Skin Colour: Bottom row, 5th from the left Voice: 18, Excitable Personality: Growing up as a child, Baryl found himself going through the motions of learning the power of the elements as most Lunarians do. However, he never really fit in with other Lunarians and wound up shutting himself off from the world, avoiding everyone and living out of his room. Left largely to his own devices, Baryl found purpose in hoarding the stories and trinkets of the Brownie race. He became obsessed with their culture, learning everything about it he could and finding himself wishing he could live in their homelands in the Great Plains, rather than the boring and backwards land of Sidonia. When he heard about the new exploration opportunity opening up he sold all his possessions and used the money to book a trip so that he could get to the Yggdrasil Labyrinth and finally be closer to his goal of moving to the Great Plains. He's very opinionated about the superiority of being at one with nature and of using its power to help you instead of trying to use magic to force your own will upon it, and if given a chance can talk for hours (and hours, and HOURS) about what he's heard of the Brownies and their culture and how it's so cool and amazing you guys*!! He took advantage of the knowledge exchange program to finally learn how to be a proper Herbalist so he can be just like them, and while he's inexperienced he's sure that he'll quickly learn to unlock the real power of the funny smelling smokes the Brownies specialize in. *accuracy of his stories may vary.

If the point of the story at this point is your characters escorting this person across space to another planet, wouldn't the reason for it being a teleporter instead of stairs be because each one is covering a lot more ground than you could walk via stairs in your average lifetime?

Thirded. I've been using this thread in lieu of an actual FAQ for almost all of the mechanical questions I've had. It's just about all in here somewhere, and remembering the misadventures of our plucky young guild is a bonus.
