re: the "WhiJo" discussion a little while back, I'm re-watching season one and the name pops up occasionally here too. After I noticed that its use in season two immediately felt less forced. Also goddamn I forgot how good season one is.

Trent is a wonderful lampooning of Rebecca and of how women are socialised vs men. The actor has her awkward grin/grimace and neurotic way of talking down pat. That said, perhaps Trent is endgame? Rebecca was very taken with his physical strength and he does fully commit to the same fantasy ideals she does. Funniest option, he ends up with Valencia.

Valencia is so sweet, she's just so happy to have girlfriends for the first time and wants to get it right  As for the endgame - I think Rebecca's endgame has to be realizing she can be detached from Josh and men in general and still be happy. In the same sense, she should also realize she doesn't need to unhealthily attach to other people in general to be happy. I do hope her and Paula reconcile, but she should realize that Paula is ultimately twice her age and so including her in a younger girl group just won't really work.

I can't be the only one that feels like there's been a huge dip in quality these last couple of episodes, right? These feel like episodes of a show on its 5th season with plots haphazardly put together and forced character interactions. CXG was one of my top 3 shows of last year so this is a real downer for me  .

I thought the latest episode was the best one in a while. I don't think most of the songs are nearly as funny or as memorable as the ones from the first season though.

I feel like outside of obvious budgetary constraints, this season has been pretty consistently on fire. The only ep I didn't super love was last week's but it works as great set up for this week's.

You can tell season one was crafted and crafted, and then the additional episodes tacked on were less so. Season 2 is less crafted and the songs are nowhere near as good, but there is a genuine sense of fun shaking things up.
