My Linux Rig posted:the PS vr is a step in the right direction just by the fact that you just need a console and everyone knows what a ps4 is the ps VR is lovely and the PS4 is not powerful enough to run virtual reality the problems you cited are basic problems with VR that can't be solved. it's not that oculus chose to make the system requirements high, it's that doing proper VR requires an incredibly powerful computer the biggest problem with the Rift is that there's no reason to own one. no killer app, nocunique gameplay experience that's actually deep and interesting. Eve Valkyrie is okay, but it's not that special they're releasing Fallout 4 VR next year, that might do it. they need a true open RPG

people always say that porn is going to be what drives VR, but they forget that pornographers are cheap and all about low effort. VR porn will be something like a walkaround of ron jeremy's dong, or some interactive bang piece where suddenly your partner's taint starts artifacting and zooms up and through their digital jawline. basically take a bunch of horrific poo poo done in poser 3d and imagine you're looking at it through a goofy headset. that's the future.

Blackula69 posted:the ps VR is lovely and the PS4 is not powerful enough to run virtual reality the whole vr thing still reeks of too much, too soon though. even if there is an amazing game that comes out for it, I doubt it's gonna be enough to convince people to drop a grand on the tech to get it seems like a few games that do plan to include a vr experience plan to do it as an optional one, which definitely seems like the right approach right now
