You're right, idk why I've been putting off getting contacts for so lo

I had a contact lens spontaneously migrate underneath my eyeball while I was driving at night, and I couldn't even figure out where it went until it popped out the next morning. Real glasses don't do that :smug:

I think in the US "gypsy" is thought of as referring to a lifestyle rather than a people - people think it's something you choose to become rather than a derogatory misnomer for the Rromani ethnic group.

This happens in the UK. Gypsy and Pikey are commonly used against ethnically Irish/British travelling communities

There was a minor Moral Panic in the UK in the 90s over alcopops being marketed to kids. I think they ended up banning them from using cartoon characters in their labelling.
I'm sure you couldn't make a booze advert like this nowadays:

I don't know who the celebrities are, but imagine watching a constable shove giant bananas up your two companions butts and just standing around wondering what he could want with your giant banana.

It's amazing how dated it makes that strip. Lembit Opik was a prominent Liberal Democrat MP who dated a pop star. Now the libdems barely exist. Jade Goody was the face of reality TV for years and was hounded mercilessly by the tabloids until she died of cancer and suddenly she was the new Princess Di

Lenny Henry's an actor/comedian and idk who paul is
