Don't you just hate when you wind up in a store with people who are in a socioeconomic class that is pretty obviously about two levels lower than your own?

Also, my kid liked playing with it, same with the wife and I. Although, my son played for a bit then told me to type 'nick jr' in.

For those interested, thanks to Eschaton for helping me out, here's a copy of the drive:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/0f6niopgs2grh67/SamanthaFox.iso?dl=0

I'll probably put together a Sheepshaver or Basilisk image of the drive.

Mini vMac! Mount the ISO in macOS, dd its primary partition to another file, that file can then be mounted directly in Mini vMac.

Can confirm the disk image is bootable and works great in vmac, although I went a way more roundabout route of converting the iso to dmg, mounting the dmg in basilisk and copying it to a fresh hfs image

supposedly mini vMac has some sort of support for SCSI disk images, but I’ve never been able to get it to mount one without turning it into a raw partition

MAME on the other hand demands a full SCSI partition image and also insists it be converted to its own format

I need to figure out if I can boot this drive image on the upgraded original mac I've got now

are you that mainframe hacker guy?

Good news badnews with the Indigo.

It works!

Except it doesnt:

because this fucker right here is dead

The instructions on how to fix it are pretty simple:

quote:

2.3 On Indigo R4K Systems

The situation on R4K Indigos is a bit more complicated. The battery
is located on the CPU board right below the CPU module but it is
soldered in place. It is not too difficult to find the pins from
the battery on the back of the board.

The procedure itself is pretty obvious and not too difficult with
the right tools and a second person that helps holding the board
and pulls on the battery while the first works with the desoldering
tools and pays attention that no parts get damaged, burned or
whatever bad can happen. Clean the soldering points after the
battery has been removed and solder the new one in place.

Attention! Make sure that you do NOT insert the battery the wrong
way. This may cause damage to the mainboard and leave you with a
dead system.

Except I suck at soldering and will need some serious help from someone to do that. Any takers? Or even a recommendation on where I could take this board to have it replaced? I'm poo poo with a soldering iron. Like, real poo poo and I don't want to break this thing.

Also, there's a floppy in the drive, I have no idea whats on it.

you use the same connector as PS/2 for something electrically different

I think I did this plugging a ps/2 mouse into an amiga through a serial adapter, while the proper amiga mice actually use some joystick wiring scheme. No smoke though.
