Turns out when you give someone a way to spit out a passable, believable text fragment based on an arbitrary input, horny nerds who can't write and fear external rejection will use AID almost exclusively for this purpose. hosed up I know

I personally don't really have a problem with people using it as a random porn generator, not like it's any different from the regular kind. I just didn't expect it to be something that AI Dungeon allows you do to.

You can toggle a NSFW filter in the options but since AI dungeon learns from the internet, and the internet turns out to have a lot of weird horny stuff, it still gets weird and I've seen the AI spit some lewdness at me even with the filter on so I'm not convinced the NSFW filter is powerful enough to resist the collective force of fanfic.net

The AI is impressive but really struggles to get railroaded back if you don't know how it works. It mostly uses word associations so e.g. if an NPC says they want to sleep with you, and you say "No, I don't want to sleep with you" the AI just doubles down on the subject of sleeping with one another because this has been raised twice in the last two entries. I feel like that's a huge factor in the AI taking you down to horny town or not. The best way to railroad it back is to just ignore the parts it spews at you and you don't want to engage in, but that makes for a very janky story.

Yeah, one of the best ways to break out of loops is just to completely change the subject. Shooting the NPC in the head usually works, although one time that got me a visit from the AI Police.

That's actually a funny bit of etymology. "Man" historically doesn't specifically refer to male humans, which is why "mankind" is only a sort-of sexist term in the modern context. Originally, there was a distinction between werman and wifman, the latter of which is where we get "woman" from. Men, being lazy bums, dropped the 'wer' at some point, but in terms like werewolf, you can still see the historical origin.

AI dungeon actually uses a third party AI that's trained off a huge variety of sources, fanfics are just part of that. I think the NSFW mode actually just blacklists a list of naughty words so the AI won't spout them at you unprompted. But the makers aren't as creative as the internet, and it's impossible to account for euphemisms and so on, so AI dungeon might still spout fetish inflation literature at you without it being blacklisted because the actual sentence it parses does not contain a naughty word, strictly speaking.

Aw yeah! I’ve been waiting for that. The only test chamber I’ve seen is one where rhere are two buttons and one cube and the solution is to get the cube onto one of the buttons, go to the future, take the future cube off the button, take it back to the past, and put it on the other button.
