Patrick Spens posted:I'm so bummed about how he fell of a cliff this year. I want him to be good, even if he winds up being good for someone else. The best part was Wilner made a prop bet with Joe Siddall that Saunders would hit 25 home runs. Wilner was tapdancing about how smart he was for the first two thirds of the season, and then Saunders finished with 24.

Darude - Adam Sandstorm posted:They can afford to and should have given Edwin the 5years and 20-25 million per he wants. Isn't Morales DH-only? I'm not so sure how I feel about Bautista coming back to RF. I guess he's probably better than the alternatives they have before them.

shadok posted:The WS window has closed, but 2017 should be an interesting season if only to answer the question "how far can Donaldson carry the team single-handedly?" They have a good chance to have one of if not the best rotation in baseball next year. The WS window shouldn't be closing this year, but if Atkins/Shapiro aren't going to replace Bats/Edwin/Cecil they should go ahead and trade Happ/Estrada.

This is also making me think that trading for McCutcheon would be a totally Anthopoulos move here.

tadashi posted:Also: Thank God I am not a Blue Jays fan. How the hell do you assemble one of the most dangerous lineups and probably the best left-side of the infield in baseball and then decide to just take a back seat? The Orioles have not really had the kind of setup the Jays have had for the last couple seasons and they just keep coming. Imagine some equivalent of Lakers Guy but he's saying "Rogers. Rrrrrrrrogers."

Darude - Adam Sandstorm posted:I believe in Estrada being one of those dudes that breaks fip because it doesn't account for flyball pitchers that can induce lovely contact at an elite rate. The worry with Estrada wouldn't be "regression will get him" but rather he'll get caught by some combination of him not being as good, teams getting better at doing stuff like sitting on his change, and the league generally getting better at dealing with shitballers who work high in the zone.
