You are going to put a lot of time and effort into making this couch like a different couch, voiding any warranty you got with it. However if that's your future, sewing a couple of strips of 50mm Velcro on is a fine solution. There are also metal poppers with high retention.

Drive some rebar down through the cushions into the sofa and the floor underneath. 8' should do it.
