Mercedes is also the shmup character complete with options and the game is self-aware of it. There are two LPs currently running. Both at opposite ends of the player skill level.

I think it can be compared to Second Life. You have a house to bling out and you spend virtual money to buy player created content. There are games and gambling to do as well.

There are not enough emoticons to match the humor in this picture.

Dominia has 4000 HP and automatically heals for 5000 if you so much as look in her direction. You are lucky to hit 3000 with Power Crisis in one XX combo. This fight had all sorts of fun things to discover. I might be able to push it further in a replay down the line.

I got my rear end beat fighting Alpha Weltall. Self-imposed challenge is going the whole game without using Frame HPs. Still going strong. As an aside, game freezes during the intro to Deus. Had to do all sorts of bullshit with save states and the game disc. Took an hour getting it to work.

Almost forgot the most important picture.

After Alpha Weltall (beat him or not) kicks everyone's rear end, Krelian and the Solaris remnants hold your guys hostage at Golgoda in order to lure out Elly at Nisan. She defeated an Omnigear with her mind.

I saw one of the older games that had a centipede. Seeing it move around in the distance was scary, but if the segments didn't have eyes and just wiggled around, I might have mission failed my pants.

EDF looks more to be an evolution of shmups or games like Advance Wars. There was always intense lag in consoles when you had a handful of moving sprites and if you made it all 3D, the PSX would slow down to a crawl.

Did the franchise start out in a serious tone and localized to be as B-movie as possible?

In the first year. Eve Online is OLD in MMO terms. When I played it many years ago, there were about three thousand or so people in the corporation and they had to start another to fit everyone. Most corps have hundreds of people. All these years and they don't have T2 Titans to moneysink?
