Olivia's Lineage 2 Journal Day 6

Welcome back! I made it to the next area.

I don't like the looks of this area. It reminds me of the way Adventure Quest 3D looked. Also why do all the NPC's here look weird? Also suddenly, for some reason, the mouse isn't locked properly when I use it to steer my character, so if you get to the edge of the screen my character stops turning. Weird, that wasn't an issue before. But that's Lineage 2 for you, always cropping up new problems.

As I head into the field to start the grind for this new zone, I can't help but feel everything's become...worse? Like, Lineage 2 is a bad game, mind you, but I feel like this section of the game, the writing, the environment, the monsters, is actually an even bigger step down. I miss the Dojo. I miss Bea.

Also almost all of the monsters in Lineage 2 so far have been silent, these ones talk like normal people, which makes it pretty harrowing killing them in cold blood like this. I don't know, something about this new area is just rubbing me the wrong way.

This is bad. This is very bad. I regret everything bad I said about loving Aura Kingdom because that was loving great compared to what I'm sitting through right now.

Another thing I've noticed about this area is that the NPC models are unique - They're still Humans and Elves and stuff but they've got that "sexy anime girl" thing going on instead of "sexy western fantasy girl" that the rest of the NPC's have.

Yeah yeah cool texture!

This game is draining me. Lineage 2, listen, you were pretty draining before, but something about this new area has made me feel like its only getting worse. Maybe I need to sleep. Yeah, that's it, I'll go take a nap! And after that, I'll be able to look at this game with fresh eyes! Perfect! I'll pet my cat, hug my dog, it'll all be good!

Okay, I took a nap, hung out with my pets, went to work, and all that! I think it's time to give Lineage 2 a new look with a more positive attitude!

Wow, holy gently caress, I never noticed how /beautiful/ Lineage 2 was! The character models, the artworks, the sound design, the environments, everything about this game is beautiful and very pleasant to watch! Even the incidental voice acting and and animations are ridiculously cute! Holy poo poo, how did I not see it before? Maybe it's this new area? Maybe this area will be high quality like the Dojo / Bea storyline? We can only hope! I'm going to get grinding in this next zone, probably going to have to kill one or two hundred blingbots, so I'll begin next entry with that. For the time being, here's one more screenshot of Lineage 2, and me signing out!

Yep, that's the one! In that case she and I can go ahead and record it, thanks! In the meantime whole we record our next few episodes, I'll keep putting out the occasional Lineage 2 Journal.

They hired out the art direction of this part of Lineage 2 to a french animation and game design studio; they poured their hearts into it, and it really, really shows. Just don't expect much in the way of plot(they saved it for the cartoon spinoff I never did get around to watching), and enjoy it while it lasts.

If you poke around enough in odd corners, you might be able to find the items that let you belch multi-colored clouds on command, and other wonderful hidden emotes.

Wow, Tier I matches make a lot more sense now that I've seen a couple complete noobs play. You need to aim at the ball in front of the plane, ie. aim where the plane will be not where it is. Plus guns can overheat and jam so you should fire in controlled bursts.

A pity you didn't enjoy it. It's the only MMO I've managed to put more than 20 hours into.

So, everyone, between me getting a new job, Darcy going into her third and fourth year of University, and a general loss of passion for the work, me and Darcy and actually in the middle of recording what's going to be the final episodes of the LP. We're going to finish up every game on the list and end it on something special, along with a retrospective. Thanks for sticking with us over the past year and a half or so, and hang in just a little longer, once it's ready, I'll try and post one video a day up to the ending just like we did for Hell Week last year!

Hi all, very sorry for all the delays in videos. I may have underestimated the workload that came with my third and final year of university. There was so much Olivia and I could barely fit in recording videos. During this time Olivia also got a new job which meant even less time to record. Of course we did have free time but we decided to spend it together doing other things as a couple. I've now officially finished all my work and am going to be graduating this July. All my work is done and we can finally get back into making videos! I'm looking forward to all the "amazing" games we're going to look at.
