BeastOfExmoor posted:IIRC, Costcos in Texas get around this by having the liquor be in a separate part of the building you enter from a different door. It might not even require a membership? Yep, though as a nasty side effect of them being entirely separate they don’t stock Kirkland-branded anything. It’s pointless to shop there unless you absolutely must for convenience’s sake.

That may be a locality thing - the one I used to go to in Florida had Kirkland liquors, and it was the same adjacent building setup.

DeadFatDuckFat posted:Anyone ever try that Stryve brand biltong thats in the upcoming coupon book? I have not had other biltongs to compare this to, but this stuff is not great. Decent texture but the flavor is not really there. It just tastes like unseasoned dried beef. Has a funky aftertaste like it was just left outside to dry. The Barbacoa carne asada jerky is next level though. It is incredible and delicious. The only complaint is that the salt is turned up to 11. I can feel my mouth turning into jerky as I eat it.

Looks like I only bought Stryve one time in 2020, but it was definitely real biltong which is always better than jerky. Solid b tier biltong unless they've changed since then. edit: jesus it's expensive. I think I might have ordered it once only, because of the price. Also I got a different product, 12 oz in a bag. redreader fucked around with this message at 04:08 on May 17, 2022 |

You can even buy it in bulk so you can pretend you're getting it from Costco.

I have rice like once every two weeks I’m not gonna go cook up a bunch of rice and trash the leftovers after it rots in my fridge. Little rice cups are fine

stale rice is what you want for fried rice anyway, so just make that a couple times a week

Making a couple cups of rice actually rules because you can eat rice with a meal one night then the next night make a whole meal out of fried rice and a ton of costco veggies and such.

Last night I made a Costco frozen cheese pizza and enhanced it with spicy salami (from Costco), mushrooms (from Costco), and parmesan (from Costco). I liberally added Franks Red Hot Sauce (from Costco) to the modded pie.

The Costco gas bar was also friggin nuts for a monday on account of it being 20 cents a liter cheaper than everywhere else. Flowed fast enough though.
