Bummey posted:Two, ECLIPSE ABSOLUTE ZERO TOTAL BLACKOUT curtains are not blackout curtains. The defining feature of blackout curtains is that they're completely opaque to block 100% of the light and black out the room. These are like tissue paper, actually has tiny pinprick holes in the fabric so light streams in through my shaded afternoon backyard. Eclipse has been having "didn't put the blackout layer on these blackout curtains" issues. I went back to a (non-Costco) store to pick up an extra panel a couple months ago and the whole loving inventory had been defected back to the manufacturer. Which was good, because the ones I'd already bought were also not-blackout ECLIPSE ABSOLUTE ZERO TOTAL BLACKOUT curtains. They make such nice curtains when they're actually made properly!

Hed posted:Also I may amend my Costco.com accolades since I just got an email from SafeRacks as a “thanks for ordering from Costco.com” so they are apparently starting to share my email directly with their partner companies. A fair amount of the Costco.com stuff is drop-shipped directly from the manufacturer on account of being enormous, and I would assume anything called "SafeRacks" falls into that category.

Harvey Baldman posted:My local church had big packs of Halloumi cheese once and then I've never seen them again and it breaks my heart. It's probably for the better. Costco cheese is the path to unrestrained gluttony. My partner picked up a brick of cheddar the last time we went to church, and now I'm permanently afflicted with the knowledge that he's the kind of man who will single-handedly eat two pounds of cheese in a week. Um, how much were the wizard robes?

Iron Crowned posted:I've just straight up given up trying to tell my roommate that non-stick pans do not belong in the dishwasher, but sure enough, every time I can't find the one I need, that's where it is. I've taken to hiding kitchen equipment from my partner for this reason. I love him, but non-stick and his ADHD do not mix. Luckily Costco multipacks mean he can have a decoy pan to destroy and I can have eggs in the morning!

thathonkey posted:it's madness i tells ya ... there used to be rules to this world Extra madness: my local Costcos have restocked their fruit trees and plants twice this month. Three plant sales! Total madness! Normally you get one shot and that's that. I was sure it was going to be like normal when the plant section completely disappeared and was replaced by Kirkland sweatpants. I was certain I missed my shot. But no, then the plant section came back. And sold out. And was replaced by Xbox controllers and gift cards. (Good deal on new Xbox controllers, if anyone needs one.) And then… the plants were back again yesterday. I do not understand it but I do like it. Also Chobani was unexpectedly on sale, so the fridge now overfloweth with yogurt.

NewFatMike posted:How's the regular bedding at Costco? Just discovered a massive tear ok my favorite set If it's terrible, you can always return it. PBUC! But seriously, like most of the stuff they bring in, they picked it because they didn't think it was terrible. I've had great luck with their sheets. My only complaint about their bedding is that people are on it like jackals. If you've got color preferences or have a cal king, you've gotta be there the day it gets stocked.

jisforjosh posted:I'd bitch to the program. I always respond to our Costco Auto customers at our dealership though I can see why some dealers wouldn't want to right now. I currently have 6 new cars in stock, do I sell this car at sticker to one of the 10 customers I have looking at that vehicle today or be forced to discount them to sell to a Costco member? Yeah, I tried to Auto Program a used car way back in April, and it was going swimmingly until a manager found out my deal was (a) started before they jacked the price up $5000 overnight, and (b) going through Costco. Then suddenly the Jeep I was on my way to buy "needed too many repairs to sell" and was "actually going to auction." (It sat on the lot at higher and higher prices for the next month and a half.) Costco was displeased about my experience. Dunno if it'll ultimately affect who gets the contract next time, but bitching at least made me feel better. And I still get to giggle about the management genius who thought WE SELL BAD CARS was the best way to stop a sale. The Toyota dealer, on the other hand, was ready to move heaven and earth to sell me anything they had in their network, but just didn't have the inventory to get me the features I needed.

Captain Beans posted:Dang that’s a pretty huge discount. Around here I’ve never seen it so much lower, usually it’s only like 10cents. Pretty wild how much it varies. I don't know if it's nationwide or regional, but per my local attendants the benchmark was "10% cheaper than the nearest X stations" in normal times. It's not currently that good here with already-high prices and the winter blend switchover — we're at ~5% — but local Costcos were hovering around $0.30 off back when gas was around $3.00.

Coredump posted:The Sukhi's Tikka Masala is one of my go to Costco purchases. Has anyone ever seen any of the Chicken Vindaloo in a costco? Yes! I sampled it last weekend and it was delicious. But Sukhi's just launched at my local one, so who knows what that means for other stores (or even ongoing availability where I'm at).
