So there's this Sony bluetooth speaker I've had my eye on for almost a year on Amazon; I spotted it yesterday at the mother loving Costco of all places for $100 dollars and nabbed one. It was meant to be a gift for a friend but I popped it open to test it and it's so god drat good that I'm seriously contemplating holding on to it and either buying my friend another one or something else. Blesss u Costco for this frivolous conundrum

(if anyone is interested, it's the Sony SRS-X55)

oh and when I renewed a few weeks back, the employee notified me that "holds" had been placed on my account for bad checks. I've never paid for anything in a store with a check because I'm not an octogenerian and asked when the hold was placed. It was right when my membership was created :psyduck:

it was supposed to stop me from making purchases but I used my card for an entire year without a single issue...

Greetings from the past. almost one year to be exact; this is how far behind I am on this thread

Since it is cold and I had $70 in rebate cash that I never got around to using, I made the holy pilgrimage to my (new to me since I moved) local Costco, which praise be, is far less busier than the Costco I used to frequent and purchased the most sacred of items:

I look forward to submitting myself to its warm embrace tonight

also don't buy those nut bars, they are wicked bad

in conclusion,

Once inside my local Costco, while I wandered, not quite lost, though
Eating many a quaint and curious sample from every row--
While I shopped for beef and flannels, Kirkland gin and huge flat-panels,
Suddenly a raven perched upon my sherpa throw.
“‘Tis some awesome bird,” I muttered, “Hunting bargains just like me.”
Quoth the raven, “PBUC.”

the box says they're good 'till 4/19, but they taste really stale and kind of bland

a huge bummer because I was really looking forward to them and also I now need to force myself to eat 28 more of them :newlol:

I was contemplating buying the Kirkland protein bars for a convenient school snack since people from a few pages back were reporting they were good/improved, but my past experience with them was so bad (I struggled mightily to finish about 3 and threw the rest away) that I just got some Clif bars and Pacific Gold beef sticks (individually wrapped, nice) instead.

I also got the BITCHIN' dip thanks to this thread. Hope it's good.

I feel like the food court pizza used to be better imo; thicker with more sauce. Had a combo slice today and the ratio of dough/sauce/toppings feels off to me. I dunno. Could just be looking through rose tinted glasses.

gently caress, the stuffed salmon I got today was bad. smelled weird while cooling down on the counter and some bites were decent, others were off. feel miserable after eating that piece too. why costco :(

Get a refund. My general rule of thumb is; If it smells weird. Don't eat it.

But I can understand that maybe the salmon and crab combo might be a reason to be less concerned, if food smells weird AFTER I cook it. We got a problem. It's such a good deal tho. 3 fillets STUFFED to the brim with real crab? For like $17-20 buckos? PBUC!

May your gut not be rotted.

Got one the next day no questions asked, PBUC. I took the label off the packaging and stuck it to a memo pad piece of paper just in case - I think they appreciated being able to scan it. Appreciate your sympathy; felt really weird for the rest of the night but was OK the next morning.

On the plus side, the BITCHIN' sauce/dip is extremely tasty. It's been in the house but a couple days and it's almost gone. The hazelnut filled crepes that were on sale are oookay. I find the crepe itself a little too dry.

Yeah, should be next to the other dips like the hummus and spinach/artichoke. It's worth looking around for if you don't see it there

Went to Costco last night, they would not let us order at the checkouts anymore as they are putting in new kiosks to order food at. Apparently this will make food ordering faster and less congested. I miss ordering food while checking out and smugly walking past the entire line to the pick up window.

Really? We have the kiosks (which are pretty efficient) but I'm pretty sure I've seen a few people still order from the checkout.

Masala noodles report: ehhhhhhhh. noods are mushy and the sauce is more salt than flavor. I'd much rather just make some Japanese curry and combine it with some spaghetti. It only had microwave directions, so maybe it'd be better with stovetop preparation, but I think this Sukhi's brand is a bust (I just recalled having their chicken tikka a longggg time ago and it was pretty mediocre too)

made a trip to the 'co since I just recently moved - kept packing the cart with stuff that I "needed" and ended up spending nearly $300 :shepspends:

I grabbed the 4505 chicarrones someone in here recommended and they're pretty good. Almost finished half the bag in one sitting lol. they're not salt bombs like cheap chicarrone so it kinda took a second to adjust, but once I did, I definitely appreciated the more subtle seasoning. I also picked up the Tasty Bite Tikka Masala, will try it later tonight or tomorrow
