Finally made it to the end of this thread and wanted to post. Went to my glorious local Costco today and got: - chicken patties - chicken nuggets - canned chicken - hummus - TP - sliced roast beef - sliced turkey - rotisserie chicken and swiss rollers - Greek pasta and rotisserie chicken salad - chicken Alfredo - tortilla chips - asparagus spears No dog or drink though. However, I forgot to use at $25 Coscto gift card I have, so I have a good reason to go back very soon!

Dr Tran posted:They changed that? drat. I thought that was really cool when I visited my aunt up there. Not really cool at all because it kept prices high and made it a lot more trouble to buy. Now a lot of booze is cheaper and can be found in many more places. It's a win-win, really.

Mokelumne Trekka posted:This thread inspired me to ditch hot dogs with only ketchup and to instead try one with mustard, relish, and loaded with them onions. It changed my life Just had this today at Costco: ![]() Got the turkey provolone sandwich to go for later, I've never tried one. Next time I'll try a chicken bake, never had one of those either.

Super Waffle posted:Can I get a trip report on the hot turkey and provolone sandwich? Much like the above poster with the brisket, its hard to take the plunge when theres a fresh hot chicken bake RIGHT THERE Had the hot turkey and provolone for the first time last night and I thought it was quite tasty. I'd already eaten a dog for lunch, so I heated up the turkey sandwich in the microwave later. It probably would have been even better had I eaten it right away, when the bread was the crispiest. Haven't had the chicken bake yet though, so no way for me to compare.

Dr. Tim Whatley posted:Do it seems that Costco will detain and call the cops on anyone who doesn't show receipt at the exit. Don't ask how I know. maniacripper posted:If a retail employee ever put their hands on me unprovoked I would..... Seems like the much smarter (and less dangerous) thing to do would simply be to follow them out to their car, note the model of car and license plate, then call the cops. If the cops will give details on who the owner is, just revoke their membership. There may even be databases on the internet that let you look that stuff up. Problem solved.

Rutibex posted:costco has no right to detain you or call the police if you walk out of their store, at best the can revoke your membership. if a retail employee puts their hands on you and physically attempts to stop you from leaving you have grounds to sue them for assault. Pretty sure they can call the police on you for whatever reason they want, but you may be right that they can't detain you. Does that include all shoplifting? I know most companies have polices about employees intervening in robbery attempts and such, some have even been fire after the fact for doing so, but seems like they would have some right about letting you just walk out with anything you choose. This was many years ago, but when my sister was a teenager, she and a friend tried shoplifting from a department store and were caught and detained. Are you saying they couldn't do that now? Sorry for the derail, praise be unto Costco!

Math You posted:You have to ask at the counter for onions / sour kraut/ hot peppers at a lot of warehouses now. I assume this is because people were abusing the amount of onions/kraut/peppers they were using? I guess even Costco has its limits. Thankfully my local one still makes onions available with the other condiments. No kraut in the condiment section though, but I don't eat that foul crap so I don't really care.

Dely Apple posted:You eat a giant bomb of food before getting a cart, this will save you hundreds of dollars in impulse and hunger purchases. As others have noted, the smart thing to do is eat your $1.50 hot dog (with FREE refill!) before doing your shopping. Not only will it fill you up so you don't buy too much food, you won't be one of those scumbags who takes their cart into the Costco food court line. You also won't have to worry about any cold or frozen food your purchased getting too warm while you jam a hot dog down your gullet.

bobfather posted:The non-member will show the cashier the gift card and say they are not a member. The cashier will request a supervisor and call it as a "99". The super will punch in their code and the non-member will swipe the gift card and then pay the remainder with whatever cash, debit, or credit card that Costco normally accepts. The cashiers, I’m sure, are asked not to be judge mental, but they sometimes can be. You forgot the details about the pair of pliers and a blow torch.

Bloodplay it again posted:Haven't been to the warehouse in about a month at this point so we put an online order in last weekend. One of the ten items finally shipped, by itself, but UPS didn't even bother attempting delivery today and instead just took it to the drop off point, which is a packed grocery store. Cool stuff UPS. I can't hate on Costco for taking so long (they were all eligible for 2-day delivery) but I should have guessed delivery would wind up being a bad idea. In an hour-long queue to talk to customer service about canceling the rest of the order. UPS is a piece of poo poo delivery service and constantly misses ground delivery dates and times. The only ones they make an effort to deliver on time are the overnight, 2-day or 3-day ones, they couldn't care less about ground packages. Oh, and PBUC.

I haven't gotten a DHL package in many years, but I don't recall them ever missing a deadline either. To contribute: I haven't been to Costco since this whole coronavirus thing started, but I need to go soon for food. Thankfully I don't need any toilet paper. I'll give a trip report after I get back.
