I went to a Costco location for the first time and was suprised to find that the carts required a quarter deposit. It was #739 in Brick, NJ. Is this a thing? Across maybe 20 other locations I hadn't seen that before.

I mean it wasn't even close to either the sketchiest or busiest Costco I've seen. I had to get a hot dog to break a buck for the cart.

Greetings friends, I was out of town this week and stopped at a foreign New Jersey Costco and got the (french) vodka and the 7 year old bourbon. I was gonna get the 20 year speyside but they had a couple bottles of Paul John Brilliance Single Malt and I couldn't say no to that.

I cracked open that vodka the other night and it is seriously excellent. Also excellent is the hot dog and drink (ft. refill) for one dollar and fifty cents!!!

Wayne or Edison?

Have people done the car batteries at Costco? Do I just take mine home and install it? Will they take back the old one?

I've done my last couple at Costco, without issue. I just replaced the battery in the parking lot and brought the old one in for the core fee. Costco even took a failed 4-ish year old battery as warrantied failed. No complaints at all.

Anyway Costco related heading back this week to get more of the awesome guacamole salsa and egg whites.

I looked up the law in my state (NJ): the doors must open immediately if a fire alarm goes off or if the door loses power. Still seems pretty hosed up

Even the tilt head models they're selling on amazon have a "yeast bread" section (with recipes, etc.) in the manual.

e. I did manage to break one of the old metal gearbox models making bagels - I doubled the recipe, so it's kind of my fault - and it was very easy to source parts and rebuild the gearbox.

Is there any way to check online which Costcos actually carry Kirkland booze and wine? I live in NY, so all our Costco's don't sell booze, but they do have an attached yet separate liquor store. Initially I thought they only sold Kirkland at the Costco's that sell alcohol IN the store, but from searching around that's not the case. Apparently some Costco's with separate/attached liquor stores DO sell the Kirkland stuff. But mine doesn't :(

If you're close to New Jersey, the Costcos in Edison and Wayne carry Kirkland booze.

I was wondering who brewed it:

Somebody on ratebeer posted:

Kirkland Signature Light Beer, 105 calories, 4.2% ABV. Contract brewed for Costco by the Gordon Biersch Brewing Company under the brewer name Hopfen Und Malz (for the west coast market) and since mid 2009 by Matt Brewing as "New Yorker Brewing Co." (for the east coast market), and for central states by Minhas Craft Brewery as "Regal Brau Brewing Company."

Matt brewing makes Saranac's beers which in my experience have been at least unoffensive.

My Costco has done the same thing with the butter numerous times over the last year or so. The reason for it being that they need to make more space for other items in either the dairy cooler or the big cooler so the butter tends to move back and forth occasionally.

Speaking of stuff that might be missing from Costco, Costco is currently fighting with Coke over pricing, so until that gets resolved (maybe it already has I don't know) Costco will not be carrying Coke products.

That explains why diet coke was 14.39/35 12oz cans yesterday.
