Bad news folks. The Costco by my work doesn't have a food court for the rest of the week.

Help.

:negative: Same. Went yesterday and I was really craving a dog. poo poo's closed down for new flooring.

Edit: I think I remember you talking about WI sports in the past. Sun Prairie?

I have my own pair of snowshoes. It's basically hiking but much more awkward, difficult, and loving freezing if you're in WI.

And unless you live in the Northwoods, Wisconsin hasn't gotten enough snow to use snowshoes in like 4 years. I've only used mine for crossing the lakes in the winter for a while now.

BTW, my local Costco had this when I stopped in yesterday.

So stoked :snoop:

Not in real fermented sauerkraut, I doubt the stuff in the food court is that though.

Idk, cabbage + salt is probably on par with cabbage + white vinegar pricewise.

Obviously, fermenting sauerkraut takes time though, I've got a big mason jar of purple kraut in the fridge and more doing it's thing in a crock on the counter. I'm curious how commercial type kraut is made now.

Commercial kraut is never super funky as well as pretty drat soft. My guess is lactobacillus starter and/or the dregs of a previous batch mixed with shredded cabbage and more salt, and then held at a pretty warm temp to get it to turn acidic as quick as possible.

Huh? Kickoff is 630 PM EST, which is only 330 PM PST. And don't forget our brothers and sisters in Hawaii, Alaska, or even further west in the Pacific.

lol I never really thought about the time zones with the super bowl, I wish it was 3:30 kick off here. I could watch it and get everyone out of the house by like 9.

Went to church yesterday and one of the samples was just chicken broth. What a bs sample. :catstare:

OTOH, another was this chicken flatbread thing that was straight up manna from heaven.

We were suuuuper lazy about taking down our tiny artificial tree this last year, and then covid hit and now it's just a permanent Covid tree with a burger tree topper. it makes a really good drying rack for all our masks.

Anyway, Costco related: Why do they always take away the products we love :negative: I miss the 2 pack of pineapple juice and the huge bags of Morningstar fake nugs so much. I leave a comment card every time but I feel like they're never coming back.

Wait how does COVID affect the ability to take down an artificial tree in your own home

Because what's the point? It's just me and my girlfriend in the house, it's not in the way, time has no meaning, and the next time anyone except us will be in this apartment will be at least Christmas, if not later.

Also, it makes a great mask drying rack.

Also also, there's a burger with taco wings on top.

Edit: here's a picture of the burgtaco

There's a good membership deal on Groupon right now but it's just me and my 11 year old . Worth it?

If it's like a lot of the other membership deals, it's prob a decent enough price to find out yourself.

Anyone have a go-to jerky at the 'co? I grabbed a bag of the steak strips, but haven't opened em yet. The pork jerky ones sounded pretty tasty too.

Bleh, these Kirkland steak strips kind of suck. I was hoping to find something a bit cheaper than goon dude jerky, but I guess I'm gonna make a purchase once this bag is gone.

The healthcare workers skip the line thing is interesting. I'm supposed to be able to use my hospital ID to skip the line but I'm scared to try it cause just clean the kitchens and break areas. I'm always afraid I'll show them my ID and they'll laugh at me for being a janitor and wanting to skip the line. Also I kind of like standing in line because you really get to have fabulously weird conversations with people that way.

I tried a pumpkin pie and hated it a lot. The one I got was utterly flavorless and the crust was soggy even after I put it through the oven. Did I get a bad pie, or are they usually very bland and under-spiced?

I also think the Costco pumpkin pie is bland and terrible
