I absolutely love the 8 grain seed bread from Costco. And you can buy a single loaf. So filling and yum.

Gonna take my boyfriend's sister to church when she's in town. She loves a bargain. We'll split a chicken bake :p

Took SIL and her friend to church, they enjoyed themselves but all the clothes they wanted weren't in their size. I am now a black market Costco exporter, gonna order the stuff online for them.

How do chicken bakes taste so bland, yet so good at the same time.

We have the reverse in out house, the dog cleans and pre washes all human dishes safe for her consumption. Gets all those burned on bits out of the casserole dish quite nicely.

Probably gonna make my humungous cheese and veggie casserole tonight, use up the leftover cheese from the cheese board.

These Kirkland protein bars are really growing on me. I don't usually feel like eating breakfast, but I get really hungry around 10-11, and can't usually stop for lunch until 2ish. If you only eat these when you're actually hungry, they're fine. Weird stevia aftertaste, but if you're a diet soda drinker, not super unpalatable. It makes me feel like an astronaut eating space food.

I saw the Robert Irvine bars, but the man himself scares me a little bit. Might pick them up though, I couldn't remember at the time if you said they were good or not.

Edit: those things are 390 calories. No loving way, I can eat a real meal for that. Maybe next time I'm gearing up for a snowpocolypse or camping trip tho.

The ones I looked up online said 390. If the ones in Costco are 190,I'll grab em.

The problem is, if they taste too good, the BF will eat them constantly. That's why we have to ration out the Sweet And Salty bars.

Ok fine these FitCrunch bars are amazing. But I kinda like how I simply hate eating for awhile after having the Kirkland recycled food bars. "Wow, finally done eating that, I can't bear the thought of consuming solids for awhile". Great for a diet. I could eat a lot more FitCrunch bars. It's like a less suagry Snickers.

100% agreed, we keep a bag in the house at all times.

Do you have an Instant Pot? Let me post the world's easiest fish rice. Gotta grab it from over in the Pressure Cooker thread.

quote:

Little less then a cup rinsed Jasmine rice
1.25 cups Water
Tablespoon Butter
8-10oz frozen salmon fillets
Salt
Dried mushrooms and/or sun-dried tomatoes (more water if using lots)
Chives (dried or fresh is fine)
Fresh spinach

Rinse Jasmine rice well and put in pot with water, butter, and chopped bite size dried stuff. Coat FROZEN fillets with a heavy pinch of salt and chopped chives. Place fillets skin down on top of rice. Set IP to HIGH, manual 3 minutes. Let manual release for 10 minutes. Plate hot rice over fresh spinach, let spinach wilt. Serves 2. Our favorite "gently caress it, I am tired, this is filling, somewhat healthy, and quick."

If you can soak the rice an hour ahead of time, you can reduce the pressure cook time to 2 minutes and the fish comes out much better.

The Aftershokz bone conducting headphones available on the website are great. I'm a dog walker currently, and I have to be reletively aware of what's going on around me at all times, for mine and the dog's safety. These headphones are great for that. I can listen to podcasts while staying aware of traffic and other noise conditions. The fidelity isn't amazing, but the situational awareness they afford me is great. Also, they are quite comfortable. I can sleep on my side with them on, a challenge in other headphones. For the gym and sleep, I'll pop in earplugs. Great for 99 bucks.

Just to add a couple things,
-The Crouching Lion trail is marked as closed, but it's really just a sign that people walk around. Gorgeous views in every direction in only a few miles if you do the loop.

Nothing makes me crazier then this. The trail is CLOSED because it's NOT SAFE and DEGRADED. A quick Google shows that the trail is an eroding mud pit with exposed tree roots. So you have to step on the roots, which with enough foot traffic, will weaken the trees, which will fall down in the next storm, which will further weaken the trail. Rangers don't close trails just to be dicks about it! By hiking and biking closed trails, you are damaging the trail, and someone sees you hiking, and thinks "Oh it must be ok if they're doing it", leading to a cascade of damage. Then someone will get hurt, and they'll sue the park, and the park can't build whatever cool thing or hire a new ranger and wow why does the park suck now.

"Oh just build better barriers." That costs money, and they ALWAYS GET TORN DOWN. God forbid safety get in the way of anyone's looky-loos.

Stay off closed trails.

5-6 years ago Pet Island was burning to the loving ground over insisting on grain free. My dog at the time did have grain sensitivity, so I've been sticking to meat forward since. It's good to know that Kirkland is rebranded Call Of The Wild, that's primo stuff. Used to be I'd buy Wellness (and Nutro before they got bought out and all lovely).

Mulan really likes the Beef Meal and Sweet Potato formula.

I need to google how to make fritatas, marvelous.

1) Heat oven proof pan, then fry chopped bacon, then onions, and all other veggies (not leafy veg or brassicas)
2) Stir in brassicas to cook, leafy veg to wilt then eggs, then cheese, cook till bottom is solid
3) top with some more cheese
4) put in oven under broiler/salamander till eggs are set.
5) Let cool. Scoop out and eat!

You can use any combo of veg, I usually use sweet peppers and spinach, but have used broccoli. Onions slow cooked in bacon fat is of utmost importance. Butter and oil may be substituted for bacon if necessary. Frittata keeps nicely in the fridge for 3 days.
