Oh nice, my gf was in Concord on saturday for a bachelorette party. I'm actually pretty surprised that the Concord costco is like that. We have a friend who moved there and got what seemed like a great price on a house but I haven't seen it in person, so I assumed it was a bit less well off. Or are there just some pricey suburbs nearby?

Concord is the most populated city in Contra Costa County so there is some variance, but yeah some of it isn't so great. There are some nice homes in Pleasant Hill and Walnut Creek which are nearby, and Clayton is just east of it and is a nice area. I haven't noticed the Concord Costco being more "ghetto" or anything though. The Antioch warehouse is really strict about seeing your membership card upon entry so maybe that one is worse?

Dude if eating some lettuce, tomatoes, and chicken breast gives you that much of a problem then you should talk to your doctor.

Noodles? You can probably put a little bit on a salad to add some flavor. Put it on a slice of crusty bread and add some parm cheese and toast it? Probably lots of things you can do with it.

I'm just curious as to how shareholders are actually forcing something really specific like this. I mean, I own a bunch of shares in various companies and the only things I've ever gotten to vote on are really broad stuff like who should be on the board and exec payraises and such. I've never seen something as specific as this. Unless its somehow just shareholder "pressure"?

Went to church today and got chicken caesar salad and the new beef chili option that replaced the beef brisket at the food court. While it's pretty hearty and you get a good amount of it (plus a small cup of shredded cheddar), the chili wasn't really anything particularly special. And at 4 bucks I probably would only get it occasionally during cold and wintery days.
Ended up getting some booze for a party this weekend and drat I didn't realize Costco carried Sazerac Rye. I used to love this stuff back when I still drank. Bought that and a Laphroaig. Good trip in all.

What’s the consensus on the Costco Auto Program? Is it going to save me some real money, or am I better off with the traditional “threaten to walk at any moment” negotiating tactic? I’ve never bought a new (or used) car from a dealer before, so I don’t know what to expect.

From what people have said in the thread, it can vary from good to not so great. Its probably worth it to try both methods though. The car buying thread on the forums is pretty helpful too. When I bought my new mazda 3 a few years back, the best deal ended up being from when I just walked into a dealership and the chinese salesperson was just like "Hey since you're also chinese I'll just give you the best deal right away".

Yeah, the salad has become my go to food court item while I'm trying to lose a few pounds. I usually set aside the croutons, and use only half the dressing (which is just kinda average tasting IMO).

its ok im just mad bc i live in the east bay and the closest one is 10 minutes is richmond which serves like 50000k people, or i could go drive down 880 (worst freeway in california and thats saying something) and go to the san leandro which also serves 40000k people and takes like an hr to go 15 miles to it

outer east bay is a bit better bc theres either concord, antioch, or san ramon and so less people at each one in relatively short area. but then you'd have to life in trivalley ick

Does the Richmond warehouse really get that crowded? I've gone there a few times and it never seemed significantly worse than the concord or antioch locations. I've only gone past 5 though so that might have something to do with it.

I think they really need to change out the caesar dressing that they use in the chicken bake. It's very flavorless. Even when I get the salads, I use just enough of it so that I'm not just eating dry leaves.
