Their meat department is full of stuff like that.

Their ground beef is sold in ~6 lb packs for $3 a pound which was 50 cents per pound cheaper than my local grocer whose price was already on sale.

Weight out the pack into 1 pound blobs, place into freezer bags, press them out flat, then freeze until needed. Freezing them flat makes them thaw quickly when needed (I've thawed them in less than 30 min under a slow trickle of cool water).

Can someone just clarify for me the different benefits of the Costco card versus executive membership?

One earns points and the other nets you a bonus on your membership anniversary, right?

Thinking about switching over our main card to the Costco branded one. Isnít it also used as a membership card too?

Also, if milk is like that, just return it.

I once got a bag of shredded cheese and it had mold already in it. They took it back without question.

Brothers and sisters, I have finally gotten my own membership for my wife and I at the ĎCo. An Executive one at that!

No more mooching off a family member. We are fully fledged church goers now.

Actually, I can now see my local Costco in the Chicago area has the lowest gas prices of all the Costcos around.

And I know which to avoid (but those areas already had higher than average prices for non-Costco gas).

Anyone have the Citi Costco credit card? Reviews are either totally positive or SCAM/AWFUL!!!

It's a standard credit card with a few caveats.

It offers great cash back on gas (4%). Travel and restaurants are 3% as well.

If you're looking to maximize your points/cash back, other cards can do that better (especially if your spending is in other categories) but it's a solid all-around card.

The other caveat is you only receive the cash back in an annual check.

They did have a special technique they used for the blade grind, pulsing on and off for 1 second so the beans don't just hover along the top, and then shaking to redistribute in between pulses. I thought it was interesting.

In other news I just reupped my membership because of this thread. Anyone have experience with the Kirkland boxer briefs?

This makes sense. Burr grinders are great if you really, really need consistent grind size (like for Espresso or french press).

If you are just throwing the grinds into a drip machine, pour over setup or an aeropress, it matters a lot less.

Hey all, anyone here ever use the Costco mortgage services? I'm in the market for a new home so of course I'd consider using the church to which I belong, if it makes sense. Any feedback on the service to provide? Looks like it just may be a platform to other online banks, but unclear what value the Costco edge brings to it.

Like the car buying service, itíll get you a pretty good rate/discount with no fuss. Theyíll cut some servicing fees just because youíre a Costco member and the rate is usually pretty good.

That said, you can do better doing all the work/research yourself. Itís just a matter of personal preference. Your future mortgage will likely be sold to a major bank shortly afterwords anyways.

Friends, I have a new washer and dryer set courtesy of Costco. Delivery people (while not formally part of the church) came during the specified window and had everything all hooked up and ready inside an hour. Great price too.

Next yearís costco rebates are going to be sick (executive member and citi card holder).
