Costcos margins are actually some of the lowest in retail because they make all their money on memberships.

It's a wonderful business plan.

Unless its changed, they have a fixed margin cap. I think like 8 percent for regular items and 15 percent for Kirkland signature items. Whole foods works around the 35% mark.

I'm eyeing the Fila Trail Shoes in Junes coupon book

Anybody got them before?

They do better in the oven but perfectly acceptable in the microwave, though the "seam" does tend to steam open that way. Solid addition to an office lunch although they do stink up the place with the smell of spicy beef.

IIRC, Costco employees get a shot at returned products at a steep discount, so your returned bars are probably going to a loving Costco home.

Bought glasses last week at Costco. Frame, Progressive Bi-focal (I'm an old), anti-glare coating, and the costco warranty - $169.99
I'm an employee so I have to go there, but I have priced it out and those would be $300-400 anywhere else. I will not buy glasses online unless I have used a certain frame before, and do not want to deal with returns or anything. Get a scratch a month later, return to Costco and get new lenses, no questions asked.
My wife gets contacts, and after rebates that are Costco only, they usually are 1/2 to 2/3 the price anywhere else.

If you ever need hearing aids, go to Costco also. Easily half the price of independents for the same brand/model. Batteries are super cheap also.

I got Lasik a couple years ago, so I haven't had need of it lately:

Costco sells a an eyeglass cleaner kit thats two decent sized squirt bottles of cleaner plus a small travel sized one plus some cloths. The kicker is, they have tanks of the fluid at the optical center and you can top it off whenever you want.

My boyfriend uses my membership all the time with his own debit card. I'm usually standing next to him at the checkout, but I've never had a problem with guesting people in and letting them use my membership with their debit/visa. Honestly, I'm not even sure if they look at the name/picture most of the time. My costco is super chill in general.

Always assumed they matched the names from the membership to the debit card. Whenever I've helped a friend out, I just tell them to pay in cash.

I went heavy on proteins since that was in shortage last time round. Ground beef, ground turkey, bag of frozen chicken thighs, pack of steaks, frozen salmon.

Also broccoli, cheeses, pack of tortillas, and for some reason three kinds of fizzy waters.

For the most part I look for flexibility in making meals.

I got a real good empty box from Costco the other day. Usually just get the 3 sides boxes or the huge & shallow ones. This one is double walled and has handles, not too big, not too small (it's the norwegian sliced salmon box).

I was excited about the box. I have saved the box to use for ferrying heavy things up and down the stairs. I dream about different ways I can use the box.

I feel like I have mentally morphed into a depression era 80 year old.

Here's a potential game changer. Most costco boxes fit in the large blue Ikea bags, giving you convenient carrying handles and straps
