After 12 years of using a good enough carbon steel Wolfgang Puck infomercial set of knives and various Victorinox fibrox knives, all of which I kept reasonably sharp, I don't regret my $400 Henckels Zwilling Pro set I bought at Costco one bit.

Really though, the Victorinox Fibrox are very good for the price, much better than the look of their handle suggests.

Go to the kitchen knife thread if you want to get recommended Fibrox or read endless discussion of nerds debating which ultra-niche Japanese knife to buy.

June bugs live underground as grubs and suck the juices from your lawn and other plants. As adults they typically eat the leaves of all of your plants.

I'm definitely not buying a sous vide machine. Although I think my Ninja Foodi Air Fryer Pressure Cooker also does sous vide...

Dunno, a pack of steaks lasts me two months. A pork loin longer than that. Still on the fence.

I bought it anyway because it's on sale now. I'll decide to return it or not.

What would be the recommended tequila of choice at Costco if we're only making margaritas with it?

Hopefully around the $25-35 mark. I really don't want to buy a premix bottle at the request of my s.o.

Any basic 100% agave tequila is fine for mixing, like a Kirkland Signature Silver tequila. Anything more expensive will be lost in the mix. Whether or not you go Reposado or Anejo is up to you, but most would use a Blanco for margaritas.

Speaking of their margarita mix, on a family vacation we tested this theory with a bunch of different tequilia's up to Patron Gold in a blind taste test and it was very apparent which ones had the best tequila. So I disagree that you won't notice the tequila for margaritas.

If you're spending Patron money on tequila, there's a million other better tequilas than Patron, and you shouldn't mix them because they're actually really good.

I got the Louisiana pellet grill from Costco two years ago. It works fine, but it's painted instead of powder coated like the Traeger. It's cheaper than the Traeger in a lot of ways actually. A lot of the paint flakes off in hot spots. The Rust-Oleum grill paint I've touched it up with has held up better.

Anyway, my beard trimmer finally died. Is the one at Costco (I assume they sell one) any good?

Where I'm from that price (the $16/lb) will get you Scotch fillet or better

I think the prime ribeyes (same as scotch fillet?) are $16 at Costco? I haven't bought them, might be more. Choice usually $11 or $12, iirc. Choice NY Strip is about $9. Choice Tri-tip (california style cut of sirloin) is $10 lb at costco for some reason.

Grocery store will have flap at around $9 regular price. Ribeye and NY Strip get down to $5 on sale, and that's the only time I'll buy them because the Choice steaks at Costco seems to be better than at the grocery stores somehow. Flap isn't worth paying full price because it goes on sale so often around here. And lol at buying tri-tip at Costco, it regularly gets down to $3/lb on sale at most places.

The one thing I will say is that Costco does a much better job at butchering their meat - particularly cleanliness of the cut and fat trimming.

I'll only go for Prime for special occasions.

Chicken is always better quality at Costco for the same price at the grocery store.

And ribs go on sale quite often at the grocery store, but aren't ever worth it compared to Costco. They're anemic and small, and Costco ribs have like double meat, its insane and worth the price.
