If you're not making a free onion salad every time you go to Costco, you are literally doing it wrong.

I still haven’t gotten over the loss of the Al Pastor salad. I don’t even know how to cope.

My Costco got rid of the chili and brought back the Al Pastor salad. Apparently they are seasonal items in the Great Book of Costco.

This is very blessed news. Thank you for spreading the good word.

So if I’m doing the math right, executive membership gives you 2% back on all costco purchases. Then, Costco credit card is 4% on due. This is then 6% on gas every time?

They are testing a LED sign board system at the San Diego Costco showing which pumps are open ahead so you dont have to worry about not seeing an open pump. Works well and speeds things up a bit.

Mission Valley? Because not even an LED sign could fix the shitshow or Morena Blvd

Morena. Yeah Morena is a shitshow because they shoehorned that gas station into that corner after the fact and its just too small.

Mission Valley is the loving absolute worst since it spills onto the street and its pretty much completely comprised of Uber/Lyft drivers during the day.

I’ve just reached the Carmel Valley Costco and it’s like a city. The tire center is it’s own separate building!

also I cooked the raw Kirkland bulgogi that was in an aluminum tray near the mac n cheese and stuff. it was pretty decent but the meat cuts were a tad lovely. looked like a lot of gristle and fat and thought I had made a mistake at first, fortunately most of it cooked down but still were a few bits of slabs of fat stringed together with gristle.
Bulgogi is usually made with trashier cuts of meats and marinated to make it edible. Imo it’s a waste to marinate good meat for it. The costco cut is okay, but the sauce they use is too sweet. There’s too much pear juice in it.

We’re big fans of getting the pork belly though. Slice it and grill it at home for cheap samgyupsal.

Since there’s a bunch of you in SoCal, I’m really not sure how you’re spending so much on avacados. I passed through Ramona about 2 weeks back and it was like 10 avacados for $6 from roadside stands. I think the food stands in Lakeside are similar in price too.

Went to the church to get some shirts and noticed the food court had the al pastor salad.

Was tempted to get it but it’s soy meat? I’ll pass.

You’re missing out. That salad to me is the best thing on the food court menu. The soy taste is acceptable as the dressing and fresh bell peppers make up for any minor faults.

What’s the good olive oil to buy? There was a discussion a while back and the consensus seemed to be “not Italian”, “cold pressed”. But was there a specific oil that you all have found to be the best?

I swing by Costco before work and accidentally bought the Kirkland Organic Italian Olive Oil. When I reached my car I read the label on the back and it’s s blend of maybe 6 different countries or regions.

The best olive oil at Costco is the avacado oil.

This is an extremely hot take.

I settled on the California Olive Oil. It’s a 1L bottle so when we wrap that up we’ll try some avocado oil

One time at a casino blackjack table, the woman next to me had an emotional support chihuahua in her purse. For the most part it was fine, despite doing that weird nervous shake tiny hairless dogs do.

Maybe an hour into my time at the table a new drink server came around and her presence spooked the dog so it took off running through the casino.

Dog culture is out of control.

So I'm debating getting the Citi Costco card and have a weird question. I'm currently splitting a membership with my sister, would I need to get my own membership and then apply for the card then? Also, how does the card compare to others? I don't really travel, just want to start using a cashback card

It doubles as your costco card, so there's that.

There's a Costco nearby that's in a business park so it's super common to see people with badges eating there. I'm guessing it's a cheaper and nicer cafeteria than some buildings have, and probably

what’s the best liquor to buy there? I still haven’t made it to their booze section.

I find that the Costco Grey Goose (tall, squarish bottle with red coloring in base) is much better than the Costco Smirnoff (big, round, frosted bottle).
