If they want to actually prove they aren't completely worthless the DNC will make this their first (of many) salvos against the GOP and dump a ton of resources in to it. Especially if/when Cooper becomes governor and is able to keep the NCGOP from loving with voters too badly.

There are rumors that he will make one last play to increase the number of judges on the court to 9 from 7 and quickly get two judges through before he has to leave office.
