nu metal is pretty much only good as a racing game soundtrack but its perfect for that tho

or maybe i just played too much gran turismo 2 and it permanently etched synapses into my brain to only enjoy bad metal while playing racing games

i don't remember gran turismo 2 having that much nu metal. there was that remix of dragula and there was also sex type thing but sex type thing isn't actually nu metal

one of the ps1 test drive games had fear factory and kmfdm and a bunch of industrial metal for the soundtrack and that was pretty neat

i say that as someone who was born in 1990
Judas Priest actually made a nu-metalish album, and it's probably the best the genre ever got. They still make pretty good stuff, and Megadeth's Dystopia is their best... well in two decades.

Adema has a few songs that are okay today and My Own Summer by Deftones is like their only good song ever. That's just how it has always been.

Is this nu-metal? It definitely fits in with lots of nu-metal in not holding up so well in 2016:

Can we just discuss how great In Flames was before Reroute to Remain, because that's a much better topic.
Reroute is my favorite in flames album in 2016. Even though I disliked it when it came out. It has some meh songs like Dawn of a New Day and Metaphor, but for the most part it pretty much owns and is a very In Flames album. Not sure how anyone can listen to Jester Race and not see that Reroute is pretty much Jester Race but better. It also has Egonomic which is my favorite In Flames song of all time. I wish some parts of the lyrics were better, but in flames suffers from that in general to the point where treating the vocals as an instrument is probably the way to go. "everyday in every way we are getting weaker" to a franticly paced song is a pretty good meta commentary on just existing.

In Flames is sort of my favorite band. I say sort of because I can't listen to them much anymore, but I have over 30,000 in flames plays on last.fm and that doesn't count listening to them while driving or on random youtube browsing poo poo. I've never had an actual favorite band, but In Flames has a poo poo ton of albums that are decent to listen to. Although youtube killed the accuracy of my last.fm. It's missing so much amazing rap.

New KoRn album is really good Coal Chamber's album last year was ok too.

Nothing out there sounds like a lot of these bands' debut albums, Ross Robinson had such a golden touch. The self titled Slipknot album is weird as gently caress once you get past the singles, $3 Bill is eclectic as hell, the first Soulfly album too.

I :member: when I could pretty much pick up any random album on Roadrunner and it'd be good. The last great trio of Nu albums they released were the Chimaira and 36 Crazyfists debuts and Five Point 0's solitary release
