I got this on sale as well. I'm only on Sapienza because I'm playing it slow and savouring every map, mastering them all before I move on. It's really good and I'll basically play it forever as long as they keep making more. I miss some of the options from Blood Money like human shields and some other stuff I can't remember, and sometimes it does that annoying thing where you can't interact with stuff it looks like you should be able to interact with - I tried to drown a target in the toilet or inject her with poison after knocking her out and couldn't - but it's no big deal and they keep improving it and adding new stuff. Sapienza is great but I find it kinda weird how much of the map is wasted... outside the villa itself, there are so many shops and apartments and stuff to break into and things to find but there are only like two or three things that are actually useful or decent for the mission. I guess that's where contracts and elusive targets and escalations come in. I love this game

I mostly just used human shields to drag targets to high places and throw them off. You can't do that now unless they lean on a balcony or something and you get a prompt to push them. I miss killing a dude by shoving him down the stairs like the world's shittiest rent-a-killer like i said this stuff is v minor but i hope they keep adding moves and options. they just added being able to pull people off a ledge so im hopeful

the only Blood Money levels I don't really like are the Mardi Gras one (it looks cool but there's hardly anything to actually do) and the White House because it's really simple and linear. The Whitre House isn't even that bad it's just disappointing because it should be the ultimate Hitman level and it's a corridor with a forced boss fight on the way out

Chuck Buried Treasure posted:I really like what I've played so far but I quit because the game refuses to let me kill the guy in Paris. First I tried to disguise as a bodyguard and arrange a meeting between the target and another guy but the guy I was supposed to be escorting disappeared in the crowd and never showed up again, ruining the opportunity, and then I disguised myself as a waiter, mixed up the target's favorite drink, put rat poison in it, and stood behind the bar for 10 minutes while the target walked around the bar endlessly but never stopped for a drink. I had one terrible experience with my first and only Elusive Target in Paris. I was trying to kill French Gordon Ramsey. I worked out his route and poisoned the caviar he was going to sample, and had already sampled three times because I was following him around being too underequipped/anxious to do anything. Halfway through his pre-caviar rant, he announced that he was too stressed out and was going for a cigarette and marched out of the room early. I figured I could then catch him alone, but he did not go for a cigarette, he just went to the next location on his route. He also walked past my ad hoc exploding fire extinguisher and kicked it harmlessly into a corner. I had been following him around for 20 minutes at this point so I walked into the kitchen and shot him five times and was then killed because apparently waiters are not supposed to do that

it#s great that even the tutorial levels have obviously been very carefully and lavishly constructed. it could easily just have been a real boat and they could go "oh yeah it's a VR simulation" but they really sell the ridiculous setup with hundreds of extra actors in their top secret base

i think i'm ready to move on to Marrakesh after three days of savoring the spicy Italian sun. my favourite moment so far is finding the VHS tape in Sapienza and it plays a ridiculous song about crying into your spaghetti bolognese and wine, but all the lyrics are actually about the various ways you can assassinate the level targets Lunchmeat Larry fucked around with this message at 23:55 on Nov 29, 2016 |

I just ignore it though so w/e also for anyone wondering what Escalations are good, the Kerner Disquiet in Paris is great Lunchmeat Larry fucked around with this message at 03:38 on Nov 30, 2016 |

I was actually thinking about mgs5 when playing this, both in that I wish hitman was on the fox engine with those gr8 controls and that I wish mgs5 had gone forever with endless new areas and missions like this will
