Fat Shat Sings posted:Actually I don't think that is the case. I mean it's the common joke that backers are dumb enough to keep this trash fire going but something to consider is the cost of Squadron 42. It's a shift in consideration for what they are doing since it would be an actual release. Squadron 42 would also come with Star Citizen. After you played the solo SQ42 campaign , you would finish with a starter ship and that would be your chariot until you earned better in the PU. Of course in early 2015--the PU would still be in development and you'd only have the really basic stuff--like trading... But don't worry CIG would be constantly adding new content and expanding the PU with ships, events, and locations. (This seems so, so long ago--and typing it just makes me feel like a rube for believing any of it in the first place...) So, huge success! And here we are... Just for the record--everything worked out perfectly. SQ42 is 60 hours long of the best game ever created. Chris and Ortwin were just finishing a letter to the spregs back in 2014 and getting ready to release the game. Then Sandi got wind of the plan. Sandi charged into the office with a cleaver and asked if they realized how stupid releasing anything would be when the idiot gamers were giving them $35million a year for nothing. So yeah--CIG is a total sham. Chris and Sandi just go on vacation waiting for the cash to stop rolling in. They figured this Christmas they would have to release something--then the shitizens coughed up $7million. (This would make me love those guys if it were true!)

Between the refunder post about their account being left active and Cymelion--I'm really wanting to see if some begging can be done to reopen an account. Which would lead to me turning into a giggling skanhunt42 a few months later when asking for another refund. e: Sabreseven posted:Do they even have a policy that prevents people buying back in after a refund? That would be a hilarous exercise in CIG self ego massaging, financial suicide for a young business with no products on the table though. CIG is being a bit gentler, lately: CIG Refunds posted:From an account standpoint, once you have requested a refund of your pledge, your account will no longer be active and you will lose access to any ships, upgrades, and special items that you have received as a backer. If you were to decide to re-join in the future, you would not be given any benefits as a former backer, thereby losing your limited edition ships and potentially having to pay more to play the game down the road. $50 gets you a week of driving a car. But you're going to need $150 a night in Star Citizen for the Caterpillar. But that makes a bunch of sense. Look how much larger and heavier the Caterpillar is. You're actually getting a really, really good deal with those UEC credits.

The ATV animation is making my brain hurt. CIG is trolling their backers, right? They had to release that clip just to see the crazy backers say how awesome it would be? Right? But on the other hand, if CIG is being legit--the mods need to go back and edit everyone's posts. "Wow, is this smooth!" "This is amazing--I'd buy this game!" This crap is just way, way too good to not make a final game. I am starting to get excited for Squadron 42. Please, please CIG--push something out the door. Between the space mop and catapult yoga moves SQ42 is looking better and better than the Wing Commander Movie. Going to be pretty funny if the SQ42 plot twist is a bunch of future spaceships get sucked into a timewarp and wind up stuck on a carrier during WW2...
