Most everything is implemented in some barebones form so far in our hands or in dev. These are just far out features that haven't really been design doc'd out.

I think some people need to watch some TZ interviews to get an idea of whats planned for AI. NPCs are already in the game.

As for scheduling we should have a production report coming out this week or early next week. Year is young.

What's "most everything" then? Specifically. From that list in the reddit quote.

Everything in that list is included in the game it just hasn't been implemented yet.

I guess it depends on your definition of an NPC. All MMOs have literally billions of NPCs, if you count every monster that has spawned and been killed to be a separate NPC. If CIG are saying that they'll be spawning a million autopilot space ships that will play a few pre-recorded audio files at you before they die, then their claims are extremely unimpressive.

On the bright side they've already managed to spawn millions of NPCs at this point so I guess they can pack up and go home.

In reality, CIG have claimed that they'll have complex AI NPCs that live fleshed out independent existences in the simulated universe. The number of NPCs that meet this criteria at the moment: zero.

The original complaint was that there are no NPCs in Star Citizen. This is false.

I believe what he meant was that the AI in SC is rudimentary. Which is true as TZ hasn't implemented it yet.

My overall point is if you are going to make blanket statements trashing old school pros like Tony Z you better at least know basic terminology to not get laughed out of the schoolyard.

Reading that German article it looks like 3.0 is planned to be a later Fall release. So what kind of juicy sub updates do you think we'll get?

I know some prelim netcode updates are planned in 2.6.1 so that's gonna be fairly sweet.

One of the reasons why the people in this thread are so resentful of the project is that pretty much everyone here believed in it in the past. There was a time where the goons had the largest "fleet" in the game.

We believed in the game until it became clear that we were being lied to, tricked into giving money to fund an egotist's voyage of discovery to find out that actually he's not a genius or even particularly visionary.

It's ironic that the continued support of a minority of backers makes us angry at their stupidity, because without them we wouldn't have been able to get almost all of our money refunded. $300,000+ has been refunded to just the people on this site.

I guess it's only fair that we try our best to discourage people from spending more money on the game. Every time they do, they pay money directly into the pockets of people who are smart enough to get a refund. Eventually, probably within the next 12 months the funding is going to stop and so will the refunds. When that happens, there are going to be a large group of backers left holding the bag - the least we can do is discourage everyone we encounter from being in that group.

You'll live, feel free to respond to only those that you want to respond to.

I can't change how people feel and its unfortunate many of you feel that way. I was just countering the assertion that "nobody here is threatened by the game". There clearly is some bad blood here.

Some people feel like their decision to get a refund or the opinions they've made many posts on for years will be invalidated if anything even remotely positive comes out of the star citizen community. Its a classic sunk cost fallacy.

Its why we get so many kneejerk posts. Like someone posts a tweet "Star Citizen is shaping up to be a great game" and like 3 people trip over themselves to say "its not a game smug"
