Lowtax finally got my dollahs. I think it's only fair that I give him the same amount of money that I gave Crobbers. Also Derek banned me from his Discord a while ago, so it's a purchase in appreciation of his banning here. And it's Ok MOMA, I kickstarted a belt too.

I love these CHUCKLEFUCKS! But seriously, it's great how any minor procedural ruling somehow means that Skadtek are "[left without] a leg to stand on". My impression is that all this means is that discovery is delayed until it's actually been scheduled. They just jumped the gun a little bit and now everyone's time has been wasted but hey.

I can see this working out. They can sell jpegs of card booster packs that will be available once the game has been designed, re-designed, re-worked, and then completely changed. Easy $10million right there.

That's not directly comparable to # of threads made in a year but I figure it's a close enough analogue.

It's like they really don't get the point the video is trying to make. Yes, obviously no one is holding a literal gun to their heads and forcing them to give money, but that's irrelevant. They all like to say stuff like "Well, I've analyzed their work and blah blah blah transparency, and I've come to the conclusion that I'm happy with the progress they're making." Well yes you dipshit, the whole idea here is that they're Just like Bootcha's oil wells, there's nothing there in the end, we're just not at the end yet. But there's zero momentum on anything of consequence. They can keep adding as many ships as they want, ships !== gameplay. Somehow Batgirl is doing things for hours but I'm not sure what. It seems to mostly consist of dreadfully boring flying around for indeterminate amounts of time while accomplishing nothing of import. Also I'm pretty sure that ramps are still a death knell for anyone that wanders too close. Wake me up when there's something to do in the game besides carting crates around.

Trilobite posted:It's interesting that so many of the commandos in those comment sections excuse the $27k price tag as being totally reasonable because "orgs with thousands of members" will be able to pitch in for it. But of course my friend. The power of theorycrafting can easily draw thousands of people to organizations that can't actually do anything at the moment. For example, my org, Test Squadron currently has just shy of 10,000 main members (there's roughly an additional 10,000 affiliate members). Many people have pooled cash to buy org ships for Test Squadron. What this really means is that they donate cash to Montoya who then buys ships with it. There is of course nothing stopping Montoya from just bailing on the org at anytime he chooses and keeping all the jpegs for himself. As far as the alleged game is concerned, he has full ownership of all those ships. And by the way, I haven't kept up with the goings on over at Test Squadron but I'm certain those ship purchases are at least at $30,000 by now.

Reminds me of back in the day when I was still fence-sitting on the possibilities of SC. Some kind of stream from Gamescom or Citizencon seemed impressive to me at the time and I moved a little bit into the positive camp. I made a nice little thread in r/starcitizen about what seemed like good progress, gave the team some props, and mentioned that it had convinced me somewhat about good forward movement on the project.
