The idea that people who got their refunds will be incredibly pissed if the game comes out and is good is so loving bizarre.

If you were in for $3000 and got a complete refund, and then two years later the game comes out, CIG will still gladly take your sixty space-bucks. A business isn't going to refuse your money. They're going to want you to pay your money, get into the game, and then spend some more money on other idiotic micro/macro-transactions. And even if they did, all it would take to circumvent their policy is a different credit card and maybe a new e-mail address.

You take your 3 grand out, then pay them 60 bucks once the thing you asked for is done for a net gain of $2940. Why would anyone be mad about that arrangement?

Obviously obsessive Star Citizen fans who can't shake that nagging doubt in the back of their head that things aren't going well and maybe that $2940 might be needed to complete this bloated husk of a game visionary game experience.

You know what really gets me about Sandi? Everything about her stage persona is more annoying then the "real" Sandi. Even though she's got a really bad case of resting bitch face, it's still much better then the twitchy movements and rictus grin of her stage persona. And with the hot mike at the beginning where she and Chris are discussing the blankets her actual "sorta Australian" accent is much more appealing then her on stage American accent. It's weird, especially since she fancies herself an actor.

I had to check, it's not actually a photoshop, it's on the site clear as day.

I wonder how they worked that figure out, it's in linear kilometres and not 'squared' or even 'cubed', yet how do they make such a claim when they know full well 99.9 of those 100 are full of empty space and nothing to find?

I'm leaning towards thinking "false advertising".

1 x sextillion km = 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000km = no way they made an in game map 100x larger than that.

Wait... that's actually not too good. Assuming that they meant cubic km, that'd make a cube 46,418,888 km per side (cube root of 100 sextillion). Now let's halve that distance to get to the center, and you end up in the center of the cube with 23,207,944 km in every direction (assuming you traveled along a axis of course). That's just 0.155 au, that's not even enough to fit the orbit of Mercury in; It's not even enough to fit the Kerbol system in (Duna's apoapsis is 21,783,189 km, so it would just barely fit in).

Unless I made a mistake in my math.

We need to let all the Wing Commander nerds figure out that Ben's scamming them (again) and is in over his head with this project (again) on their own, because it will be so much funnier that way.

Chiming in on the Final Fantasy chat what the hell was up with FF IX? I liked the first disc, we've got likeable characters, a somewhat weird but comprehensible plot and then all of the sudden disc two pops out and we've got merging planets, perfect spirits or something for limit breaks and end boss out of nowhere.

My personal theory is that they had the writing team from a SNES era FF game writing 9 but somewhere near the end of disc one the writers from 7 and 8 broke down the door and wrote the rest of the game while holding the original team at gunpoint.

It's a prerendered scene with no interactivity and that's as nice as they can make it look. It's a sweet thought, Chris Roberts seeing all these new, beautiful space games coming out- and in truly impotent frustration, not knowing why his can't look like that too.
