You shouldn't he has a lovely overhead, great cross-ups from the air, a fantastic combo extender when meter-burning db1 and maybe the best j3 in the game, which is hideously easy to combo into normal strings.

Thinking about it a little, I think the big issue with pitching and defining a Superman game is that a lot of it comes down to execution rather than just ideas and most game developers and publishers have almost no confidence in the execution of their ideas. That's why marketing is just numbers, big ideas and buzzwords to describe. You'd need someone with a really clear vision and the confidence to not get frightened away from it and I don't think there's a developer out there who is doing that but would also be close to a Superman game. Having a friend on the force is a lot different than being chummy with the police in general, to the point of working alongside them and taking orders from them and helping fix up their surveillance system.

Individuals =/= Entire police force. It's a very different character choice to have Spider-Man, as an individual entity with his own goals, occasionally work with the help of singular elements of the police force to having him work within and alongside the police force as a whole. Any story line that has that happening previously I'd argue is a similarly bizarre take on the character and misses a lot of the fundamentals. Also, the working relationship with DeWolff was a lot different in tone and implication to the relationship with Yuri in this game. I’d be happy with one costume per character if they’re well chosen and meaningful. 2 had a bunch of ugly, weird choices and they made no difference. 1 had a bunch of ugly clutter.
