Second season of the Ao no Exorcist series.

Is the first season of this any good? It looks like it might be a fun brainless shonen romp, I'm just wondering if there's anything offensively terrible about it.

After reading the synopsis I was not expecting that art style.

I quite liked Kiznavier when I watched it, but I have to struggle to remember those plot points now, after only a few months. It's not the most memorable anime of 2016, that's for sure.

The OP, on the other hand, was awesome, and still pops into my head from time to time.

It really is. It's got a ton of funny faces, and it feels really similar to Umaru-chan in a good way, but that's about it.

Demi-chan looks like the superior "not-quite-human cute girls attending school" anime so far.

Yeah, I knew that going into the episode, but the similarities still struck me. The art style and humor are really similar, and so are some of the characters. Umaru/Gabriel is the obvious comparison, but Satanichia also reminded me a lot of Sylphynford.

It also looks like it's going to occupy the same "harmless but forgettable fun" category as Umaru-chan for me.
