Anyone care to guess the amount of 5 on 5 hockey that got played in the first period of that Can-Lat game cause it sure doesn't seem like much at all past the opening minutes

This reffing is legit awful. Goalie clearly gets whacked by his own defenseman's stick and that's just the latest one

It's always meh goal-tending against clutch goal-tending of the kind USA always seems to bring along with stupid penalties that threaten to sink Canada in the key games. Like every year. I wonder if they crash and burn in the first knockout game again comeback or not in this. It almost reads like a script though Canada getting all hot headed and chippy and the goalie being meh or outright soft in games where they can't really afford to.

So the consensus at work tonight was that Connor Ingram Interesting stat line, Canada entered the medal round with the worst collective save percentage of all competing teams to advance. .882. Hockey Canada has needed to work on this for years at this point though along with the whole don't parade to the penalty box against top competition like USA/Russia/Sweden etc. Kale fucked around with this message at 06:16 on Jan 3, 2017 |

Hey Ingram maybe make some key early saves if you want your team in the Gold Medal game. Couldn't hurt. Like maybe even try taking the first 10 or so shots without dipping below .750 or something then work from there. If Canada wins this tournament with it's sub .900 save percentage it'd be quite a feat but why try to do it that way. Unfortunately I could very easily see this game being some sort of penalty filled 5-1 shitshow or something for Sweden that they walk away laughing from the way Canada tends to be in the knockouts in this tournament for most of the decade. That gets me thinking, maybe also try not taking constant penalties against a team like Sweden if you want a shot at advancing too boys. Couldn't hurt. But..b...but we can't start Hart, he hasn't played in a couple games. Clearly we need to go with the warmed up guy Ingram. Lucky Canada's forwards are showing up and that Ducharme had the sense to correct his grievous mistake early that they're still in this. Already a better crap French Canadian coach than Therrien who would have just left the same guy in to go 0-4 on the whole save thing or something. Eh can't say the U.S didn't earn it. They've been the best team all tournament really.
