Been awhile since i posted, going to try and keep this thread up to date. If you have seen my previous threads you will know that I work as a tow truck driver and have a bad habit of buying lovely cars and try to sell them, or if its something that tickles my fancy i might keep it. Anyways, here is a list of my current projects, 1985 AMC Eagle 4.2l wagon (the brown bomber) Got this amazing machine about 4-5 months ago (after having owned a 1983 eagle wagon for several years as a project) found it on craigslist for sale at a automotive welding shop for $300, same price as the non-running rust bucket 83 i bought years earlier. So far the work i have done to it is: Cleaned out the idle jets in the carb nutter bypass swapped the seats and steering wheel from the 83 fixed dash lights, wiper, rear wiper and power lock wiring replaced bald rear end tires ordered new valve cover (plastic one has crack and the plastic one from the 83 is just as bad). replaced trans filter and adjusted bands Still to do: Raise 2'' with spring spacers up front and add a leaf or shackles in the back Install jeep rims and bigger tires tint windows fix horn fix exhaust leak 1988 Corolla FWD This is my first car and shes sitting at 450k km Swapped the engine and trans a few years back after loosing 4th gear ATM i have a 4age motor and trans out of a 91 corolla gts waiting to go in as soon as i have the time and space, still need an efi gas tank for it. 1987 Nissan hard body (noodle body) This bad boy is the definition of poo poo box Currently its sitting at my buddys house growing mold for the last 5 months. Tons of rust, needs new box and frame rust repair, have a KA motor and 5-speed from a newer hardbody waiting to go in, but again, time money and space are what i need to get this poo poo nug back on the road. 1996 Honda Civic All but given up on this one bought this civic knowing it needed to pass a inspection for a broken window and bald tires, took it in for pre-inspection and got back a huge list of issues. Tackled most of the issues, window, tires, ball joints, brakes, brake lines, shifter bushings but when i got to the rear suspension to change out the rubber bushings i broke every bolt that holds it to the body, even the captive bolts that go into pockets in the frame. If anyone wants a civic cheap let me know. My roommates also drive toyotas that i end up doing alot of work on, one is an 88 cressida, swapped to 5 speed, 1 piece drive shaft and lsd, scary to drive in the rain and the other is a 87 celica gts, has lifter tick (found the hosed lifter and cam loab), just replaced the hi pressure power steering hose that involves dropping the cross member and removing the pump to change. Has a fully rebuilt head and cams on the way to fix the lifter tick. Need to get some of these projects on the go to make room for more crap, trying to sell the civic and going to be scraping the 83 eagle after i get what i want off it for the 85, then i will probably buy more crap to fill in the gaps.

When you sell the Eagle, let me know because I would love to road trip it out east and love it here. I bet it'd even pass an AB OOP. I'd be interested in the Civic but Slung would probably stab me at having to help redo all the captives.

"The seats are stuffed with eagle down, and the dashboard is made form the beaks of a thousand eagles. Also, there are some eagles under the floorboards." "That's an awful lot of eagle." "Yes, and yet..." (sighs) "What's wrong?" "It is just, the luxury edition has so much more eagle. It saddens me to think of you missing out." An awful lot of Eagle.

DFW has a radio station named The Eagle (KEGL). They have a drive-time show that's decent, but it also pokes fun at least a couple of times a week at the fact that their promo audio clip has a red tailed hawk. The company that owns it (iHeartMedia, aka ClearChannel) also killed off the only other major modern rock station a few weeks ago. It turned into a Christmas music station for a bit, now it's yet another adult contemporary station (to join the several others we already had).

spent a few hours outside installing the valve cover. Doing an oil change and replacing the thermostat at the same time. ended up removing the wiper motor for better access to the rear by the firewall. Had to tap a few holes in the head and move a few things around but it got to cold and dark outside and i dropped a bolt and couldn't find it, hoping to finish it up before work tomorrow. The valve cover came with all the hardware including 2 rocker bridges to replace the stock ones that have a threaded bit for the stock plastic cover

I hosed up and bought another truck 1990 f-150 351 2wd long box $200 for a running driving truck i had to buy it, plus with the noodle body down i needed something to haul poo poo with So far from looking around it needs a passenger side valve cover gasket and has a manifold leak on the passenger side and the tires are poo poo, does a good burnout tho. also has dual gas tanks but the front tank don't work, don't think im gonna bother looking into that tho, and the gas pedal flops around, think its just a bushing. And in cressida news my room mate just bought a 85 cressida for $400 that i towed because the front wheel came off and hosed the front end funny enough i got a call to put the spare tire on that cressida about 9 months ago, its still on it (not the one that came off) then sold them a spare set of doors (we got the doors back with the car), just going to part it out, he also bought a freshly rebuild motor\trans from a supra from another guy, lots of work to come. Also found a rebuild head\cams for the 87 celica, and have new springs, struts, top mounts and cv axles to go in. Got the seatbelts for the eagle fixed up, got a co-worker to rewind the clock springs in them, gonna put those in once its above 0 outside. eberbs fucked around with this message at 20:36 on Jan 14, 2017 |

DJ Merritt is still in the area, but he was just another DJ on the Edge after Edgeclub ended. Scull is still on the air, but they have her on morning drivetime now. Not much talking, mostly music. It looks like KEGL kept one or two KDGE DJs.

Got around to installing the rewound seat belts into the eagle today, the po had a dog and the hair got loving everywhere, the retractors were jammed the gently caress up with hair. Also changed out a heater hose that started to leak.

took my first actual look under the hood of the F150 today and found some issues. nice bare wires looks like the exhaust leak is coming from the egr pipe some homeless death spot bolts on the intake coolant leak and every valve cover bolt was basically falling out, so i tightened them up but to replace them the intake has to come off, so if the leak stops from tightening the bolts ill just leave it for now. Also took a look at the floppy gas pedal, the po wrapped a poo poo ton of electrical tape around the top of the pedal were it hooks to the throttle cable, haven't taken it off to see what fuckery is going on in there. Then used my old sunpro code reader that i have had for years but never had the chance to use it. came back with a egr code (surprise)and fuel pump code (rear tank is disconnected).

Replaced the passenger side door handle today, it was broken when i got the car but came with a few spares so i changed it out but when it got cold the door got iced up and when i hulked out on the handle it broke again. edit: the replacement is the one on the right Oh and looks like im gonna be doing a heater core in the eagle aswell, gently caress my life. After i replaced the thermostat and leaking heater hose it looks like the pressure in the system blew out the core because now i get steam coming out of my vents, and it smells like maple syrup for some reason.

Just got through the worst snow here in 5 years or so, gently caress i hate snow. Worst part of the snow is im still waiting for the heatercore from rockauto for the eagle to show up so i had to run the f150 with chains and it was poo poo. Finally got the civic sold, towed it out to the new owner, he's stripping the engine for his mint civic, i only lost about $500-600 on the sale. Win some lose some i guess. Trying to sell the f150 so i can put that money into the noodle body but i need to figure out the sloppy steering in the 150 before i sell it. And in Cressida news my roommate got a box 2 inspection on it from the cops for tinted windows and loud exhaust, hes got 30 days to get it inspected or its off the road.

I'm so sorry to hear that. From my experience those are so hard to tighten up without replacing all the linkages or maybe the power steering pump. If yours is anything like my old ranger there is probably a good 1" of play before the system tightens up enough to even move the wheels. IIRC some of the linkages are adjustable, provided they're not rusted solid.

Heatercore finally showed up, on the day my insurance runs out. This is gonna be a lovely job for sure. As for the twin I beam slop on the ford, i did a little research and some people have luck adjusting the steering box, but most say its a temp fix and after awhile it gets worse than before. Don't want to sink money or time into the truck so i might try and sell it as is.

I'm pretty sure "steering" is more of a suggestion on those. I know my 80 had about a quarter turn of play, and my stepdad's 92 had almost a half turn. He got pulled over a lot from cops thinking he was drunk. Nope, just sawing away at the steering wheel and yakking on the phone.

Got started with the heater core replacement on the eagle, what a loving pain. It starts Finding tons of rat poo poo and nest stuff but the best part is the chewed wires, likely why my window sprayer, dimmer switch and horn don't work. making progress but still a ways to go. ended up braking some of the brittle plastic on the dash so im going to put the dash from the parts eagle in, its in much better shape.
