GD_American posted:I've never played Mass Effect. Is it worth jumping into a whole collection? I loved the ME trilogy and using Xbox Gamepass for PC it has been fun to see old achievements from the 360 era. I don't know if someone coming from it fresh could get through the peculiarities of ME1. Watching one Alexis Alexander Navarro on Giantbomb play through the ME trilogy, currently at the end of ME3, and that scratch the itch for me to replay it. If the rerelease tinkers with the combat of 1 & 2, it would be worth it; if it is just an emulated release, maybe watch an LP

The PC version of ME doesn’t have proper gamepad support so that alone would be a decent update.

Lol anthem Lol Anybody else still playing state of decay 2? poo poo's been glitchy since the last update and likes to reboot my xbone haphazardly now, without errors messages after reboot like with an overheat. Maybe it's because my xbone is a practically ancient first gen.

I own the collectors edition for all three Mass Effect games, but I'll likely end up buying a collected package if it's even halfway decent. Really hoping the rumors that it's full fledged are true.

GD_American posted:I've never played Mass Effect. Is it worth jumping into a whole collection? You ever wished you could play Star Control 2 exploration with Star Control 3's plot with Gears of War conveniently placed hip level objects to hide behind but also you're a Jedi wizard so you can float enemies into mid air and then use your maximum knockback modded shotgun that overheats in one shot and send enemies flying over the horizon but the game doesn't do physics damage so they get back up and spend like 2 minutes running back to you? I miss ME1

pantslesswithwolves posted:Ooh, what kinds of mods are you running? I’m waiting for the new game to come out of early access but I’d love to kill time with a new Subnautica experience. So I'm up to like 20 now All pulled from here: https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica Dependencies QModManager: https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/201 This is a dependency for every other mod, they all run through this somehow. SMLHelper: https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/113 Also a dependency, I think this one runs the textures on custom parts? Asset Tools: https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/202 Downloaded it because something down the list required it, but I forget which one. Cyclops mods Cyclops parts: https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/101 This one supports most of the various Cyclops mods that are about to follow. Also allows for a Cyclops strafe: https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/155 Does what it says. Cyclops can strafe just like the Seamoth! Cyclops docking mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/554 Adds a base section (vertical connector) that lets you dock your gigantic honking sub, and transfer straight into your base. Bonus: recharges batteries! Cyclops Nuclear Reactor: https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/241 downsized reactor to fit it your sub. Cyclops solar upgrades: https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/273 Just like the Seamoth upgrade. Recharge your batteries by going topside and sunbathing. Vehicle upgrades in Cyclops: https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/83 The upgrade panel you normally build in the Moonpool can now be built inside your Cyclops. Tanks/diving Scuba manifold: https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/379 Supposed to combine the air supply of all tanks you're carrying; it’s a new part, not a passive mod like I had thought earlier. Refillable oxygen tanks: https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/67 This is the fun one. Tanks have a far higher capacity...but have to be actively refilled at Fabricator stations. Surfacing doesn't fill your tanks anymore. Will be fun to combine with decompression stress/sickness (via the debug menu). Unsure if this interacts with Scuba Manifold. Other/QoL improvements Map : https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/12 Self-explanatory. Can show you topographic, biome, and some others. Will also go down into the Lost River, Jellyshroom Caves, and Lava Zones...but is only revealed in a certain radius around you. Settings can be tweaked to change your radius/remove fog entirely, if you want. Snap builder: https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/427 Makes construction a touch easier, snap-to-grid style. Has big and little adjustments available. Large deposit fix: https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/50 Fixes glitch where game never realized you finished mining out a large deposit of minerals/whatever. UI tweaks: https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/562 Biggest thing here is crafting multiple items at once, provided you've got the raw materials for them. I think you can change the time and energy needed for them as well, but I haven't looked too far into yet. I've industrialized water production with bladderfish, though Databox scanner fix: https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/128 Collected databoxes won't show up when you use the Scanning Room anymore. Small QoL, but I like it. Autosort Lockers: https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/31 Takes the asspain out of sorting things yourself. Comes with a few parts, one that you dump all your things into and a locker for them to land in. Sorting criteria are done at the locker they'll land at, and can be done by item type (metals, food, water, crystals, etc) or by specific item (titanium, cured fish, water, or diamonds). Upcoming/want to try: NitrogenMod: https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/248 Adds a 'crush depth' for when you're diving outside of a vehicle, and nitrogen/decompression limits. Sounds like you have to decompress like an actual diver would, otherwise you have to pay the piper (with blood or medkits). Also adds a pile of new tanks, which are not compatible with Refillable Oxygen Tanks. Oxygen generation: https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/477 Tired of your new base doing all the life support work for you passively? Want to have to build something so you get to breathe there? This one's for you! Variants also exist to do the same to your Cyclops, if you're so inclined. Radiation Challenge: https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/149 Did you feel like the Aurora radiation leaks/explosion wasn't as hazardous as it should've been? Did you gently caress around a fair bit before going in to fix the ship core, because it was kind of a non-issue? Want some real inspiration to deal with it? This one's for you! quote:

I can't believe they pulled it out of beta when almost everything you install has horrible permissions issues and crashes. Hell I even had to reinstall Halo MCE twice then go to the other windows store app to download some other 10mb add-on to get it to work at all.

I fuckin suuuuuuck at it but it's satisfying as hell when you start to nail some corners. I got Art of Rally yesterday and promptly sunk 9 hours into it. I don't recall having this much fun with a racing game since the early Colin McRae Rally titles in the late 90's/early 2000's. It definitely takes a while to get used to how the cars handle, and at first it'll feel like you're maneuvering a wet bar of soap around, especially on rainy/snowy tracks, but once your nail a perfect handbrake turn around a tight hairpin though... unf I also really dig the music, which is usually the first thing I turn off in a racing game. I also like how nothing is licensed, so they've had to get creative when it comes to naming the cars you're driving. What is obviously a Lancia Stratos is now "La Wedge", the Audi Quattro is "Das Hammer", the BMW M1 is "Das Uberwhip" etc. I think I'll be spending a lot of time playing this.

With some anti gravity tech/powers thrown in because that's how FTL works in that universe and they scaled it down so you can sometimes bounce your opponents around like a pinball. You also get to Kirk a few aliens.
